One of the biggest art nouveau style building of Kecskemet. It was built in 1893. The building was designed by Ödön Lechner and Gyula Pártos. The decoration of the building, which consists of Zsolnay tile patterns inspired by old Magyar and Turkic folk art, was...More

Stand in the square outside at mid-day and listen to the famous carillon playing tunes collected and composed by the town's most famous son, Zoltán Kodály. Then take a peek inside at the magnificent murals in the Council Chamber, depicting scenes from Hungarian history.

My favourite building in Kecskemét, with the roof, the bells and its style... it needs some renovation, though. A kedvenc kecskeméti épületem: gyönyörű a tető, a harangjáték, a stílusa... bár ráférne egy felújítás.

The music of the Town hall bells is amaizing. I Recommend. The mains square is also very beautifull.

The late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries saw a flowering of an art nouveau style that combined the decorative styles of the Secession with Hungarian traditional styles and technologies. This building is a very fine example of the genre.

Having visited many other cities across Hungary, I must say I was suitably impressed with how beautiful the Town Hall of Kecskemét is - it is unconventional (in its pink hues) & because of that it is worth a visit. It is centrally located in...More

Unfortunately we were unable to tour the building when we were there. Given the size of this city, the building is impressive, as well as being quite attractive. Traveling Europe is quite interesting to me because of the architecture.....I love it. And it is quite...More

Kecskemet is a lovely City, the second biggest in Hungary. When you walk around the town the first thing that strikes you is how clean it is, no litter anywhere. The flowerbeds are well looked after and even though there are many small and comfortable...More
