We lived nearby during our stay here at Heviz. The benefits of church:
-as you are walking uphill in the heat after a tiring bathing at Heviz lake and even more exhausting huge lunch, the sight of blue towers gives you some hope
- the bells are ringing every 15 minutes, so you know exactly what time it is
- sometimes passing by you see wedding ceremonies that make you either regret your life choices or thanking God for them (depends)
-it looks cool

The church was consecrated in the year 1999 by the same bishop (Jozsef Szendi) who had laid its foundation stone only three years earlier. With its seating capacity of 1000 it is the largest Catholic church in Heviz. The church is devoted to The Holy Spirit whose seven gifts (namely: „ wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord“) are represented by seven towers. Five of these towers form the front of the edifice while the other two can be seen on the other side.
The interior is truly remarkable for the beautiful wooden panels which cover the gothic style vaults and the upper part of all the walls.
The excellent acoustic makes the church a perfect place for organ concerts which are given there once every week. Make a point of attending one. For me and my wife it was an unforgettable experience.

The church combines a traditional appearing facade with a modern timeless interior structural design, where the rays of the ceiling beams are radiating from the middle back wall, where a stained glass window is depicting the Holy Spirit. The church was packed at the 10:30 am Hungarian mass, that had nice music and soleful homily.

This is a relatively new church so it’s more functional than aesthetically pleasing. That said, the internal roof wooden structure is still unique and nice. The slope up to see the church was pleasant.

Very unusual church but worth a visit. It runs a number of events - if you can read Hungarian! There is a free toilet at the rear.

This new church (consecrated in 1999) has a nice view from bottom part of Szecheny Utca so we decided to have a quick look inside. Modern but at the same time simple, with a lot of space for mass attendance.

Even if the church at the first look inside doesn't seem to be a catholic church (decorated very simple with a compareable modern design), it is a very nice and impressive house of god if you sit down, send a prayer towards heaven and enjoy the difference to those gold-loaded churches somewhere else.
