Szimpla was recommended to my friend and I as a fun Tuesday night out. We were surprised how busy it was. Despite being so large, it provides a nice atmosphere with shared tables and surprisingly good food. The bathrooms were atrocious. My friend misplaced her...More

I heard about this place many times, but this was my first visit. It has a really unique concept and decoration; it seems to be an old residential building consisting of many flats and a courtyard in the middle, converted into this ruin pub. The...More

The original and probably still the best of the "ruin bars" in Budapest, this place is not so much a bar, more a labyrinth of bars in three buildings forming a C shape with a courtyard at it's centre. At night this place is exciting...More

District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses
the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and
colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in
an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes
and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic
crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of
the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in
Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly
