We went to 3 different baths in Budapest, of which Gellert and Szechenyi are the most famous. They are both very beautiful and have their pros and cons (see my other reviews). But they are also extremely busy with tourists. The Kiraly baths are not at all busy with tourists. Most visitors are locals. The baths are 400 years old... More

We decided to visit another spa as the weather was so cold and wet. The day before we had been to the Szechenyi before so,we decided to try these for something less grand and older. These baths are good to visit on a cold day as they are all indoors. The main pool was was 36 degrees and was situated... More

This was very interesting as it is not touristy. We did not hear any other English although the attendents had just adequate enough English. A large central pool under a stone dome. There were 3 small pools (about 8 people big) that were colder and hotter. A steam sauna with about 3 feet visibly. And 2 dry saunas. You can... More

While most tourists make their way to the Széchenyi Baths (which are fantastic in their own right), a friend and I went to the Kiraly Baths for a more local experience. We were the only tourists there the whole time, and the building felt ancient. The experience felt more authentic than the party atmosphere at Széchenyi. If you have time,... More

The oldest baths in Budapest according to the info we read. It certainly look very old and appears almost derelict from outside. Inside is a mixture of ancient architecture and 80's communist decor, which has seen better days but is all clean. Once in the main dome though, the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed. We almost fell asleep! The sulphurous... More

I actually prefer the spa in the cave about 25 KM out of town but when in town and I need a break this is where I like to come. It just feels like a place the locals come to and I never see many tourists here. Could it be nicer or spruced up a little sure but this place... More

Loved these baths as they are very local and great for people watching. Could do with a make over however not tooo much as wouldn't want to loose the atmosphere. Had a 20min massage which was great

It's a small area that many locals hang out it as it is one of the cheapest. One of the local there told me Széchenyi is the best but it's quite expensive. You might be better off there if you have extra cash. If not, this is a passable thermal bath in my opinion. BTW, no photography is allowed.

Nice Turkish style baths and one of the oldest in Budapest We got a cabin which was great for changing and leaving stuff in (shared between the two of us) and rented towels. The towels were fine (we had been told they were rubbish but this didn't seem to be the case). Got changed in the cabin and went downstairs... More

The facilities and the baths themselves were absolutely amazing. The venue was well placed and organised. The planned massages were a disappointment as others cue jumped and we lost our spot, otherwise the venue itself was just perfect.
