Excellent guides (Nori and Erika) excellent tours, amazing knowledge shared by the guides and an amazing way to learn about the city. Travellers tip- do one tour a day for every day you stay in Budapest. You will. It regret it!!

Szabi was an excellent guide, taking interest in what he talked about. He gave a detailed background of everything he spoke of and that didn't leave us confused (as it often happens with guides who assume we know their country's history). He was extremely polite and ensured every one in the group was comfortable. Thanks Szabi!

We did the Hostel Culture Backpackers Pub Crawl last week. We ended up having a blast with our group which represented several countries around the world. We stopped by a few unique spots that we probably wouldn’t have strolled into if we weren’t on this crawl. It’s also worth noting, we went into a couple small bars too which only... More

Our guide, Dea was interesting and spoke excellent English. We saw a lot of points of interest, got useful tips about food, drink, transport and such like. The group was very large and I think this made it difficult for the guide. We got left behind once or twice and missed some of her information. It's a good way to... More

We joined a general tour on May 5 departing from the steps of St. Stephen Basilica (2:30 PM); we did not register ahead, just signed in on the spot. We were around 25 people but it was always possible to hear the guide. He was funny and very informative on the sights, the culture and more. We walked for over... More

We were staying in Budapest for only 2.5 days, and this free walking tour, led by Dea, proved to be the best way to orient ourselves and to prioritize the rest of our time. Besides talking about history and iconic buildings, Dea also told us about traditions and tales that local kids like her grow up with. She gave us... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
