We decided to visit the baths on a rainy wet afternoon. We recommend sticking to main road parallel to river and look to the left to see a glass fronted building that looks like a library. We stopped in the cafe for a drink as we were a bit early as the baths don't open till 3 in the afternoon.... More

Having visited the Gellert Spa, I wanted to try one of the original Turkish baths and Veli Bej did not disappoint. We arrived early at 2.30pm in case of queues but it was quiet on the day we visited so we did not have to wait at all. We enjoyed lunch in the cafe and went straight in when it... More

It has been raining for the first two days of our trip so we decided to visit the spa each morning. Its one of the cheaper, quieter baths and we enjoyed it. Turkish domed roofed bath with smaller pools also. Steam rooms and saunas. Cafe on site too. On entering the process was easy and the check in lady was... More

Took a little searching to find, as it's not obvious from outside. Set inside a hospital grounds the entrance is through a glass fronted cafe. Turn right after entering & the spas are first exit on your left after the cafe. We weren't asked wether we had flip flops, towels or swim hats. We purchased a safe locker situated by... More

After walking round Budapest for 2 days we wanted to chillout somewhere for a few hours. We looked into baths and I opted for this one. It was more off the beaten tourist traps. I was worried about the language barrier but needn't. Things were very simple and easy, entrance, towel hire, massage all sorted. Walking down to the beautiful... More

We visited three baths in Budapest; Szechenyi, Kiraly and this one. This was my favorite as I come to the baths to relax and Szechenyi is not relaxing at all. Kiraly is more special as not renovated but it was quite busy when we were there. Veli Bej was quiet, which made the experience very pleasant. The main bath is... More

This is a small spa set in the old hospital. It is much cheaper than some of the bigger baths and has far fewer tourists visiting. The main octagonal pool lies under a beautiful domed roof and there are smaller pools all set at different temperatures surrounding it. Definitely worth a visit

This has become my favourite baths in Budapest. I love the mix of ancient and modern and the fact that it's quiet and out of the way. We found it easily enough but I guess it could be difficult if you've not done your research. Anyway I like experiences that you have to work for; it makes it so much... More

We went on a cold February morning and it was a great inside activity to hide from the rain. The baths consist of a main pool, two additional warm pools, two saunas with different temperatures, a steam room and a cool pool. There are a handful of showers near the entrance that are very basic. If you are planning to... More

If you want a place without a lot of tourist and you just want a warm bath, then go to Veli Bej, it's very cheap. They also offer massage (an hour for about 20€/6400 forrint), but don't expect deep deep muscle massage. But the place don't have any outdoor pools and it's very small
