At night, when all the lights are lit, is a sight to behold. Beautiful! We took an evening cruise and it was a great experience.

Beautiful place to visit. Take an evening cruise on the Blue Danube and watch Budapest light up as the sun goes down.

Most of the important buildings in Budapest were built to face the Danube. To really appreciate the beauty of the city, you need to take a river cruise. There are several companies to choose from. We did a dinner cruise which included a nice buffet....More

We went for an evening cruise on the Danube. The illuminated bridges and buildings were a breathtaking sight. We were also treated to fireworks the night we cruised. It a highlight of our Budapest visit.

We walked across it during the day on the Chain Bridge and cruised down it at night. Beautiful. Seeing the bridges from the water is different. It is a different view than from land. Parliament was beautiful at night. We did not take the dinner...More

Not really sure how Strauss saw it as blue, maybe before industry and pollution it was once blue. Today, I'd be scared to fall into it, as I would not consciously make a decision to go in there. The Danube is quite a long river,...More

The Danube is right in the middle of Budapest. It was the most formidable barrier against invaders from the east. It was the way that to travel in the country. It is one of the essential, if easy to forget, part of Budapest.

The Danube splits Budapest and makes for wonderful tourist experience. The architecture is outstanding and the city is spectacular at night.

The Danube, what a historic river. A must in Budapest to see. The river boats and cruise ships are nice.

We are going on this trip on 15th July and I am concerned about what my Wife and I should wear for dinner on board each evening as we have been on many ocean cruises and don't know if it is the same, any up to date info would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance

Smart casual dress. Most men wore a casual shirt with a jumper for the evening. My wife wore a cardigan and we both wore jeans. The cruises don't have a dress code as far as I'm aware. It's quite relaxed. Have a nice... More

Thanks for your review. I'm wondering how people dressed for dinners and evenings on the cruise? Was it more on the formal side or will dressy jeans and nice sweaters/tops suffice? We prefer more casual and just want to be comfortable with what we bring. Thanks again.

The cruise was very relaxed with no formal nights which suited us. Smart casual was fine. Very relaxed dress code during the day. Enjoy your cruise. We loved it.
