One of the most famous streets in Budapest is Andrassy Avenue, a beautiful boulevard with an amazing amount of grand looking building to admire ,its home to quite a few high end retail outlets and some great pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants, I'm here for a week's holiday in Budapest, its eight years since my last visit here ,city is still as beautiful as I remember it and this street still amazing to view ,if you're planning a holiday to Budapest it's a street to most definitely check out.

City history, re building process is absolutely amazing. Excellent transport system, reliable, good cost, very good frequency. Food are good and not expensive. The main attractions beside are crowded, always means a outstanding experience. the weather is hard, not controllable.
Also the main activities in August related with the Athletics WC was incredible!!

Pretty Street; be sure to look up and across the street to really appreciate all the wonderful buildings! This street has high end shops (and more watch shops than you could imagine!) and a nice vibe. Take a nice long walk, see the Opera house and end up near the Danube.

This tree-lined boulevard is home to many luxury brand stores and great restaurants like the beautiful Callas Cafe.

There are also some hotels located by this street. We stayed at Callas House.

The stunning Hungarian State Opera House is located on this street.

Often described as “Champs-Élysées and Broadway rolled into one,” the intersection of Nagymező Street and Andrassy Avenue in Budapest, commonly known as Pest Broadway, is historically renowned for its association with theaters and music. Taking a stroll down Andrássy is a great way to see a number of Budapest’s different architectural styles, including the Hungarian National Opera House, neo-renaissance townhouses and mansions, and a number of different national embassies.

Here you will find many fine gourmet restaurants, quaint cafes, and bars dotting the streets and largely contributing to the area's overall popularity with locals and tourists alike. Just under 2 miles long, the street connects the city center to City Park, beginning at Heroes’ Square and spanning almost as far as St Stephen’s Basilica.

Definitely reminded me of strolling the avenues of Paris…beautiful old trees, magnificent homes and buildings and wide streets with views from one end to the other. We walked from the Opera House to Heroes’ Square, which is probably about a mile, but there was no rush and the day was lovely. Great way to see the city and the views/surrounds are terrific.

Andrassy Avenue, together with the Heroes' Square that closes it and the M1 metro line under it, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002. The comparison of the avenue with the Champs-Elysees in Paris has long been banal. At the same time, 2.3 km of World Heritage does not represent an organic whole. It is easy to notice after passing the avenue completely. In fact, the authorities under the leadership of Prime Minister Gyula Andrassy, after whom he was named, tried to build the avenue at once and avoid eclecticism, but the nature of capitalism prevented this. The world economic crisis of 1873 suspended construction, and then it turned out the way it turned out. The avenue can be divided into 3 parts. The point is not only in different styles, but also in the fact that the width of the avenue is different on these sections, which, you will agree, is infrequent. The first 800 meters between Ferenc Deak Square and the Octagon Avenue has a width of 34 meters and the height of buildings in 3-4 floors. On the second 700-meter section from the Octagon to Kodály Square, the avenue expands to 45 meters, and the houses, on the contrary, become lower. 10 meters of expansion made it possible to create parallel alleys that gave Andrassy Avenue in this part the appearance of a Parisian Boulevard. The final third has the same width, but the style of the houses changes dramatically, so Andrassy looks like a suburb here. Hungarian aristocrats and rich bourgeois built villas here. Many famous Hungarian architects participated in the design of the buildings on the avenue, and first of all Miklos Ible, whose Opera House turned out to be one of the most beautiful in Europe. There are also some famous cafes and coffee shops with expensive interiors, the most famous of which are Muvesz (Andrássy út 29), Lucasz (Andrássy út 70),

We walked this street from Elizabeth Square to Heroes Square. It is lined with beautiful buildings, many with highly decorated entryways. We enjoyed just looking at the artful window displays in many of the shops.

We call it Budapest’s Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

True, this is just one of many impressive streets in Budapest but I wouldn’t want to have missed out on it.

One of the things we noticed about the city‘s the variety of buildings of different ages and heritage. This brings a vibrancy and individuality to Budapest so we just walked in walked for hours around the city.

This place has some pretty decent bars and restaurants to provide refreshments for all your efforts!

No idea why this place is getting 5 star reviews. We walked from the city centre up to the city park one afternoon and what a waste of time it was. A good 3km I bet and what is there to see? Some claim designer shops - great, so what. Barely any of them anyway even if that does interest you. TGI Friday's. Some embassies - WOW. It's got world heritage status so I had high hopes for it but ultimately this is a LONG, BORING walk with very little to see or do. There is an iron curtain memorial which is interesting but that's it. We got the Underground back to the centre. Waste of an afternoon.
