Whilst Heroes Square is an impressive monument, to get the most out of a visit there you really should go with an experienced & knowledgable guide. It would be difficult for a visitor to readily understand the many various minor details & historical significance of the statues without explanation, as there are no interpretive signs etc

We got off the Big Red Bus to have a walk around this area. It was cold so did not stay long but if the weather is warmer there is a lot to see here. Also from here you van walk to the gardens which are beautiful and from where you can access the Zoo. Worth a visit

The square was neat with interesting architecture around the area including the Theater. The statues were magnificent with wonderful historical stories.

A must see place in Budapest, very impressive - the sheer size of this place is amazing. It's also a place Michael Jackson used to film one of his videos

Looks great but limited skate hire. Open 9 to 1 and 5 till 9. Good price but arrive early. We travelled hoping to skate but no skates left very disappointed.

A nice square, very close to the Huniad Castle . A good place to take some photos, and some nice buildings around.

This place is huge, but it's great for photos. It's also nice walk from the city centre (1h). Worth going to take some pictures and they are more things to see once there.

Well worth a visit and does not require too much walking. Statues of the 7 chieftains of the Magyars plus the millenium monument celebrating 1000 years of Magyar history. A must see in Budapest.

Walking around the square and going into the underground museum that commemerated the 1956 Revolution was a meaningful experience for my Romanian refugee husband. Not sure how much "regular" folks would appreciate it. However, it doesn't take much time and I think it was free.
