    Imponent square to visit
This is one of the most important squares in Budapest, adjacent to the Városliget park. On both sides we find the Szépművészeti Múzeum, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Műcsarnok Art Gallery. Also close to the square is the Serbian Embassy. In the center of the square stands the Millennium Monument with carved statues of the heads of the Magyar tribes who contributed to the foundation of Hungary in the 9th century. In front of the monument is a cenotaph bearing a motto in memory of those who died for the freedom and independence of the nation. Here also stands the column with the summit statue of the Archangel Gabriel holding the crown of St. Stephen, the first king of Hungary. On the sides we find two colonnades with seven statues depicting the history of Hungary.

    Honoring the past
Heroes Square is a very lovely monument with its tribute to the original seven tribes that founded hungry and behind them you can see other kings and nobility men of hungry’s past. It’s also nice that it goes right onto a Park so you can enjoy it walking back there and finding a Castle or the statue Anonymous. Who brings inspiration to writers who touch the pen he holds.

    Impressive Statues
We visited Heroes Square while on a Tut Tut tour and got the history from our guide. It is a nice area with impressive statues with great meaning in Hungary. The history and meaning of each statue is interesting so if you go be sure to research or have someone tell you the meanings of each statue

Probably worth going with a guided tour
Probably good rather then very good, some pretty impressive statues in a city full of statues. Ended up going here twice once with a guide once with out certainly got a lot more out of it with a guide. There were some pretty aggressive touts here only place we really run into them in Budapest. Wort 1/2 an hour perhaps an hour if you stop for a coffee.

    Stunning view and vibe.
Very nice place and vibrant. Any turn will bring you in the sight of a nice architecture and building. The minus is mainly displaying the heroes that also conquered Transilvania that is part of Romania, and I am naturally biased :).

    Impressive Public Space
Heroes' Square is a large, and beautifully landscaped public space. At one end is the very imposing Millennial Monument. A walk through the park takes you past baths, gardens, and museums. Sleet during our visit kept us from exploring as much as we would have liked, but a huge skating rink was a welcome winter alternative.

Saw this large square and monument briefly while we were on a panoramic tour of Budapest. The square was constructed in 1896.

Well restored, the main monument is in excellent condition although almost everything in Budapest has been restored or re-created following bombing in WW2, followed by Soviet occupation.
This is a must-see location. The statues of the 5 horsemen is excellent

It's a great square depicting the Hungarian history with big statues (Millenium monuments) and a grand obelisk in the middle.

Heroes' Square is a large, majestic open space that is highlighted by a huge set of statues in the middle, commemorating historical events. The statues are very impressive, but you really need a guide to understand them. Join a tour to appreciate the history behind this Square.

Once you've looked at the Square, wander off into the adjacent areas. You will find so many other attractions, like a zoo, a museum, beautiful grounds with a large pond, a castle and cafes. I found these more interesting than the Square itself.

Interesting to look at the statues and hear about the history of the place. On the way from the park to the city centre & metro made it easy.

We walked to heroes square from our hotel in the Palace district and realised there was an event as we got closer and saw all the police and road closures. We were lucky enough to see the Tour de Hungary cyclists along with all the entourage right in heroes square. The monuments are stunning and you learn a lot about the history of Hungary when you look up who the statues are of.
I had seen pictures of the pillars and columns before so I recognised them as we flew into Budapest Airport, really easy to spot so look out for them.
The area around is lovely and just behind them across the road is a a long building with a central dome that has nice clean toilets, souvenir shop and icecream kiosk with very friendly staff.

We had a great tour guide who was so informative about Hungary’s history through the ages. This huge spectacular square is very impressive with the spacious avenues leading to it.
