This stately square on Budapest’s eastern side gives access to excellent restaurants, bars, shops, and monuments. A great place to people-watch, and very safe. Easily connected to the Deak Ferenc pedestrian street and metro station.

Nice little Christmas Market at the square. We walked here from our ship at the Danube. It was a nice little market with a selction of food, beverages and ornaments.

Vorosmarty Ter ( Vorosmarty Square ) is a wonderful square Pest side of the River Danube, the square is formed by beautiful buildings and in the square's is the wonderful Monument To Vorosmarty, there's some nice cafe bars and restaurants on the square and when we visited on a freezing cold late November night the wonderful Christmas market was in full swing ,lots of beautifully decorated stalls dispensing hot wine and serving delicious food ,loved it here ,enjoyed some glasses of gluhwein to warm up with ,if you're planning a holiday to Budapest it's a square I highly recommend you check out.

Nice to wander round but food prices are a genuine con. Charged nearly £40 each for a meal which was heated up in a microwave (one dish with no drinks). No indication of price but had assumed it would be semi reasonable

We visited in December when the Christmas Market was on which was quite a few stalls (although no where near as many as 2013) selling gifts, crafts, Christmas decorations and food and drink. Food prices were a rip off so work out the conversion rate carefully before buying! There was a little train at the top end and the square was filled with fairy lights and a huge Christmas tree.
The famous Gerbeaud Cafe is worth a visit, although quite expensive, the cakes are to die for.
The square s also one end of Vaci Street, the main pedestrian shopping street in Budapest.

Lovely Xmas market, plenty of food and drinks. The rum punch was delicious. Lots of stands and handmade stuff to browse and buy.
But expensive, but what to expect from the town centre if a capital city.

Ask the price before buying food at the Christmas market. I bought a hotdog and I didn't see how much I paid until I got back to my hotel and saw my bank statement. Ft10,400 for a hotdog is outrageous!!!
I went back the next day and said they'd made a mistake but they said that was the price.
That's nearly £23 or €26. I'm a pensioner and not a wealthy tourist to be conned.

Visited this Xmas Market and the one at St Stephens Basilica. Stalls are quite 'samey' whichever market you visit. Leather goods, hats, gloves, glass ceramics, candles, Xmas decorations. Lots of food and drink vendors some of which don't display prices. Can walk round both markets in about 15 to 20 mins but linger longer if you want a mulled wine and food. St Stephens is the more attractive setting
