We saw the building in many occasions during our stay. I would recommend a boat cruise at night to see it lit up from the river. We did not go inside however we walked around the building outside and it is very impressive. My parter works in architecture so for him it was a must visit place in the city.... More

An interesting building which is very beautiful inside and outside. Only escorted tours are allowed and you will need ID to book your tour. It is not expensive and well worth a visit. The change of guards by the crown jewels is on the hour and you are allowed to take photos of the jewels from outside the room (use... More

Order tickets on line before you go. Still very good value whilst we remain in the EU! Non EU members are double the price! Tour was just about the tight length and showed us the main areas of theis hugely impressive building. Tip: take the tram which runs along the promenade and around the parliament square for great views of... More

You can find the Parliament from almost everywhere in Budapest. However, the best view is the one you see from the Fisherman's Bastion at night. Also, if you have a chance to sail along the Danube river, you can enjoy the unique view from the river.

Myself and my boyfriend visited here in early February, externally the building is stunning, nice contemporary landscaping and entrance into the visitors centre, internally it's very lavish, and well worth taking the tour, it lasts about 40mins

We visited Budapest February 2017 and decided to do the Parliament tour which lasts around 1 hr. A very interesting place to see inside. Good tour planning which includes the use of audio sets with an English speaking guide.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
