The museum has a permanent collection, but more interesting are the temporary exhibitons. If you by chance have a ticket for any event in the MÜPA - concert, etc. - than with this ticket you can visit also the museum.

We saw an exhibition called Save As .. What to do about preserving digital art. It is a great exhibition (runs till end of March). Generally a good exhibition space, located by the river and pub the same building as the concert hall. Nice cafe, tram stop or river boat nearby. Strange little structure outside would give you good views... More

We visited the exhibitions on the first of January. They were quite catchy, especially the one dedicated to their national composer. I enjoyed the museum shop from the first floor, they sell really nice small things. Although the contemporary art museum was nice, I recommend visiting the mupa site before going, since the building hosts the artistic hub of the... More

This museum is built together with the National Concert Hall, and Festival theatre. It's worth to visit these parts of the building too. 3 leveles, usually different exhibitions. This time I liked 2 of the 3 very much. Nice views from here to the city.

You can get their by boat (part of the public transportation system)! What else can I say. Ok, so it is actually an excursion (hence my suggestion to take the boat because then it is really not just about the destination but also the trip - otherwise a bland dreary ride with the tram). It is in the south of... More

I have been at this place a couple of time before, so the architecture was of no surprise. The location is by the Danube embankment, a development area. The Palace of Arts is co-located with a concert hall and the National Theatre. It is within easy reach by tram. The view from the building is magnificent. The avant-garde exhibiton with Polish... I have visited the museum two times and it has been every time one of the highlights the trip. The space is breath taking and I have enjoyed my time over there a lot.

(arts award review) There were three exhibitions at the time, 'rock space and time', 'passion' and 'the contempary collection'. I would definitely recommend that you visit the Ludwig museum because the art is so interesting and expressive. this art inspired me because there are many forms of art in one place. it shows that you can do whatever type of... the entire Hungarian section had no English or German or Russian sub-titles, just lazy attitude and disregard for foreign visitors on each each floor some ticket attendant chased me down demanding to see my ticket, as if I sneaked in without paying the space itself is fantastic though most of the content was rather weak HUF2400 was simply too much...
