It is right beside Matthius Church. It does cost money to go up, but I am not sure how much it is as it was part of our city tour for Gate1 Travel. Bring a tripod to take your photos here, otherwise you will have to ask someone to take your photo.

walk to the top for beautiful views of the Danube. Go up in the evening once all the tour groups go home and there is no entry fee.

A must see area with incredible architecture and views. The history is definitely what makes it really cool. Read up before going not many signs in English to understand where you are or about the history of the site. Nevertheless do not miss.

This area is a must.....not only is it a very pleasant place to walk around, but it provides some amazing views of the city. It can get a little busy later in the morning, so I would arrive a little earlier, as it feels more special when it is quieter.

Great marble works. Lovely square with terraces overlooking the Danube with great views of the Parliament Building. Great opportunity to take pictures of Pest area. Very busy with tourists and you have to wait to take a picture of a particular view.

Budapest is gorgeos as it is. Most beautiful city I have ever seen. You have the best view of the Danube and the Parliament from the Fishermens Bastion.

I love the view. Took tons of pics. There were so many people and the weather was so nice. This place is really amazing. How I wish we stayed till sunset but I was dead tired after a looong day walking here and there.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
