Our concierge recommended the Back to the communism tour in Budapest. We got a pick up from our hotel. Since we were four of us, the minibus took us all around the city. Sylvia, our guide provided us with personal stories about the city. She was extremely informative and funny. We loved our tour very much. Thanks

I enjoyed both tours for free with the Budapest Card and the guide on both days, MONCSI, made us enjoy and learn a lot. Her command of English is excellent and she knows how to make visitors feel welcome even on extremely chilly days! Summing it up, I wouldn't have been to so many places if it hadn't been for... Went to Szentendre Artists' Village and had a great time. Ate several unique foods including angos. Loved the place's our guide took us and his guidance on best food choices, history and places was great. Good enough to sit down and buy him an ice cream cone. His favorite place.

My girlfriend and I booked a the Ideal City Tour with this company and had Robert as our guide--who I see has also gotten high praise from a lot of other people here. I see why. He was like a walking history book, but funny and interesting at the same time. He really seemed proud to be Hungarian and from... More

Melinda, our guide, was excellent. She originally started the tour in English (as we booked it in English) when she then noticed that my mother can only speak German she immediately explained everything in German. We were astonished by her great language skills and we wish her all the best! And can hopefully welcome her in Brussels one day. The... More

After my Eat Hungary Tour, I must say I am HIGHLY DISSATISFIED! The tour guide was fabulous, but the tour was HORRIBLE! We were to experience 9 tour stops or tastings. Our small group only had 5 tastings. Many of the places were closed or were NOT AWARE of us coming! Due to this we were turned away most places!... More

Dear Lauren, We are glad to hear that you were very satisfied with your guide but we are disappointed to hear that our organizing ability didn't meet your expectations. Unfortunately there were some non-expected cases due to the fact that the tour was in the end of the year (12/30). The Lángos stand was closed and the butcher had no... More

This was my first time to visit Budapest and joined CityRama's one day tour on Danube Bend. I am extremely impressed by the service provided by Vera. On the major sightseeing spots included in the program, Vera also introduced all the major sightseeing spots along the river of the Buda and Pest on the way to Danube in five languages... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
