Very nice and unexpected experience. We visited not most popular, but hidden places. Thanks to our local guide Hudor we learned a lot about Hungary and Budapest history. 4 hours, 4 places to eat and a lot more sights.

We took this tour as a group of 9 through the Pest side, starting at the central market where we tried different types of sausage and pickled vegetables. From there it was on to a fish restaurant, a gourmet chocolate shop, authentic fare in the Jewish district, a drink in a ruin bar, goulash, and different types of strudel. The... More

We did the food walking tour recently and had a lovely afternoon. Our tour guide Eseme was very knowledgeable and we had a good time walking around with her. There was a good mix of food stops and also cultural stops. This is a nice way to spend an afternoon in Budapest.

I love food, exploring cities, and good people. I had the pleasure of enjoying all 3 on this tour. Monika was an awesome tour guide and it was clear to me that she was passionate about sharing her culture and country delicacies with us. If you're on the fence about this tour, I highly suggest you do just do it!

We had a walking tour of the Castle Hill area with Hunor as our tour guide. I was amazed at not only the view but also the long history and stories behind and to get to know how Budapest has become what you see today. We had heaps of questions on the culture, history etc. Hunor did a great job... More

Wife and I completed the food adventure tour with Zsuzsi as our guide. This was a cold, rainy and windy day but we had a lot of fun and enjoyed the food tastings that Zsuzsi. Very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. We were all cold and wet by the end of the tour but have great memories of our afternoon.

We had a wonderful tour with Gergo our guide. He did a fantastic job of sharing history, food and culture with us. We saw places most tourists would not as we wandered through smaller streets. Gergo brings the richness of having lived here and a great love for his country and people.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
