The inner most (therefore "small") of Budapest's ring roads. The Small Boulevard leads to the Liberty Bridge.

small boulevard? Fair enough. I'm not totally sure which part I'm reviewing but looking at the pics, it seems that it is the area outside the central market. It's all here. Bicycles for hire, the market, restaurants n cafes n bars n coffee shops, burger king, fast food huts, taxis and for us, a great location to find our bearings and head to wherever from. Love it.

Central Pest is surrounded by several concentric semi-circles enclosing the innermost parts of the city. Kiskorut (or Small Boulevard) is the innermost of those semi-circles. Staring ar Deak Ferenc Square and ending at Fovam Square, the boulevard changes names every few blocks, making it somewhat confusing to find places. Deak Ferenc Ter is one of the major public transportation hubs. You can board the subway, several bus and tramway routes meet here, so you can get anywhere in town from here. The Square itself is often the place for festivals and arts and crafts or food markets. Locals and visitors often use it as meeting place, so it is always busy. City hall is just half a block Southeast from here and on the opposite side of the boulevard, you will find many stores , restaurants and bars. Gozsdu Square or courtyard is just a couple of blocs to the East, up Madacs Imre utca. Two blocs Southeast from Deak ferenc Ter you will run into Budapest's major Synagogue, a destination by itself. On both sides of the boulevards, you will find multiple antique shops, especially rich in old books and artwork. Passing the Astori hotel to the right, you arrive at the Museum Ring Street (one of the several names Small Boulevard adopts. Across the boulevard is ELTE University, one of the major higher education entities of the city. Beyond it stands the majestic Neo-Classical building of the Hungarian national Museum, which houses an outstanding collection of Hungarian history, arts, politics and folklore. As the boulevard turns South, then Southwest, you will find the Karoli Gaspar Protestant University, followed by a couple of blocs of residential streets and buildings and then you'll reach the Fovam Csarnok, the major covered market in Budapest. Of exquisite architecture, its roof is also covered by Zsolnay tiles, in a colorful pattern. In addition to groceries, fish, meats and game, you will find inside an extensive collection of Hungarian folkart and souvenirs.
