About
The International Centre of Graphic Arts is a specialized museum and producer of printed and contemporary art, based on the heritage of the Biennial of Graphic Arts and 20th century art of printing. MGLC was established on 25 December 1986 by the city of Ljubljana, upon the initiative of the longtime head of the Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts and director of MGLC, dr. Zoran Kržišnik. It has been the job of MGLC from the outset to perform a number of activities that are interrelated and complementary in their nature. It takes care of the extensive collection of prints and artists’ books produced after the Second World War. Works from the collection are available to view in the Study Room and are accompanied by a library accessible to the public, both by appointment. The institution’s most recognizable activity is the Biennial of Graphic Arts, which is known as the world’s oldest graphic arts event (1955-).

The museum is nice, beautifully located in the Tivoli park. They have a good cafe and localities are fresh.
It’s a nice break from the city.
The David Lynch exhibition was good, but I was especially intrigued by the other exhibition they had with local graphic artists, it was great!
Staff was nice, but the shop is a bit weak, not too much to choose from.

Next time I’m in Ljubljana I will come back.

Beautiful setting in the park and scenic terrace cafe. The 'Tivoli Grad' palace is lovely just to view from outside but if you are a David Lynch fan and in town until the end of July , then 5 euros entrance (included with Ljubljana Card) will get you inside.
Really enjoyed the exhibition and even read the info booklet twice so it was pretty good stuff ! Guided tours of the exhibition run on Tuesday nights in July from 7pm to 8pm.
If you're not a fan then enjoy the view from the terrace cafe.

It is in a lovely setting in the middle of Tivoli garden. When I was there the temporary exhibit by David Lynch was there. There really is not much to see but combined with a refreshment on the patio made it worth while.

Stopped by for some peace a d a chance to continue reading .you book. The beverage list is quite extensive, and the cakes looked delicious, but I don't have a sweet tooth.
The staff were very courteous and the young man (sorry, I didn't catch your name), was especially friendly and was lively to have a chat with- it's obvious to me that he was a fantastic flight attendant, as he interpersonal skills are the best I've experienced in Slovenia so far.

Both the main display at the centre and those at the other linked galleries elsewhere in Ljubljana are of a poor to abysmal standard. Really disappointed. Save time and money and do something else.

This place is up there on global graphic design scape and needs to be more visible internationally. This is par excellence but I see innocence in the game here. Quite endearing actually!

On 30.12.2018 visited "Sunday guided tour of the exhibition Švicarija: Community, Art and Nature in English and Slovenian, conducted by Matic Ferlan". The website claims that the exhibition is in Slovene and English. The reality is that the exhibition is available in English only for groups. Then the other male guide claims that a tour in English will be after 45 min. Of course, there is no such info on the internet. No apologies. Unprofessional + only students working on Sunday. It is not a guided tour if there is no possibility to listen to anything, just read. Also, students were very surprised about being asked for the WiFi password - they don't know it. Again - very unprofessional if there is a clear WiFi name of the place (MGLC). Overall, very disappointing for foreigners.

Nice manor house in the middel of Tivoli park, average coffeehouse, and terrible presentatioin of nice prints. You can look just at reflection of windows during the day. No special explanation, except in a room on the left with nice decoration and workshop for children. The main goal, looking at works of art is not possible.

I don't know why this is really a museum. There are two other better (but not great) modern art museums in Ljubljana. The exhibition space is very small... we saw maybe 30-40 pieces total. There were no handouts/flyers/guidance... we were just told to go upstairs. For a family, it isn't worth the euros. In fact, unless you have a special connection to the current temporary exhibition, it's not worth going at all. It's really too bad that this isn't combined with Ljubljana's other modern art museums. The building itself which is beautiful from the outside, isn't displayed properly. Sadly, the cafe also disappointed with the worst coffee I've had in 3 months in Slovenia and extremely poor service. It's really a shame as it's a beautiful location in Tivoli Park that seems like such a perfect locale to showcase Slovenian art. Skip the museum and just stroll the park, taking in the cool photographs displayed for free outside.

I visited it during the art biennale, the location is great in the heart of the Tivoli park, workshops are available which makes the experience even more interesting but the pieces displayed are worth visiting too.
