This is a lovely pedestrianised bridge with a sculpture depicting it's links to butchers on one side. A place where lovers can also declare their love for each other by fixing a padlock to the railings. Good views up and down river of the triple and dragon bridges too so get your cameras ready.

This is a modern footbridge, built in 2010, connecting the Central Market and the Petkovsek Embankment , and made with steel wire railings. It has become the custom for people to attach love padlocks all along the railings before throwing the keys into the Ljubljanica river below. If you look carefully, you can see flat bronze pebbles with faces strewn... More

Butcher's bridge sounds so sinister a name for this bridge where lovers go to hang a padlock to show their lasting love

This modern bridge, with metal railings and glass inlay in the floor, is an interesting contrast to the more historical Triple and Dragons' Bridges. The Mythological sculptures at each end are beautifully sculpted and the lovers' padlocks on the rails give the bridge it's own unique feel.

Butcher's bridge was already planned to be built by Slovene greateset architect Jože Plečnik. But was finally built in 2010 and immediatelly padlocks of couples in love started appereaning on its steel wires symbolising their eternal love. There are some statues and sculptures as well.

Each city needs a padlock bridge and Ljubljana has it in the Butcher's bridge. It's a farely new bridge but already packed with padlocks. You can also see grotesque statues of Adam and Eve, Satyr and Prometheus there - all quite funky looking.

Sculptures abound on this bridge. Locks of love, as well. This is he center of the 3 bridges. They are allfairly close together, so be sure to walk across each one.
