What a great way to get a sense of this area and its history. This is a very easy bike ride. The trail takes you through fields and farm areas as well as by schools, daycare a parks and apartment buildings. Periodic markers with a barbed wire logo reminds you that this was once part of the Occupation barrier set... More

.This is fine path around Ljubljana for walking, biking, strolling with your dog. Once upon a time, during the WW II, there was a barbed wire and Italian army controlling citizens of Ljubljana. Today it is called green ring and you can walk in a shadow of trees nearly all around Ljubljana – just some small parts lead between big... More

The path is encirceling Ljubljana so it is too long to walk it in a day - 34 km. And some part of it are not much interesting, leading on the paved streets in Ljubljana suburbs. If you want to see it all. iking would be the best way. Otherwise just try to follow parts of it - some are... More

A very nice walk, encircling Ljubljana, also called "Path by the wire" due to Ljubljana being closed of during WW2 by a wire fence. There is almost no ascent, so it's suitable for everyone.

During the second WW Ljubljana was surrounded by the fence built by Italians who have occupied this area. Where the fence was, today is the path around the whole city. Around 30 km of a path. Thousands of people are walkinh there in green, enjoying being in nature so close to the city.A nice option for a tourists too -... More

It is a great path for walking or biking. But needs better memorial signs or picutres, so that people would know what happened during war. Every year in May it is a traditional march around it - or partially or whole path or run. Too many people walking it, should be a week thing (just my opinion).

I enjoy long city walks as a way of experiencing a city, my own or a city I am visiting. i couldn't help noticing the Path of Remembrance on the free city map and wondering whether it was possible to walk a significant portion as a visitor without car. With some help from the Tourist Office, I was pointed at... More

To us, the locals, it represents the everyday escape into the green. Mostly tree-lined and gravel paved, the path runs where Ljubljana was surrounded by a barbed wire fence during WW2 occupation. Accordingly, if you happen to be here the Saturday after Europe Day (9 May), you'll be amazed by the number of hikers and the atmosphere for the annual... More

The "POT" is a path way that goes around Ljubljana, it is about 35 km long, most of the way is a lovely path between the trees. If you happen to be with bike, I recommend to make this trip all along, it shouldn't take more than 4 hours unless you'd stop from time to time for a drink or... More
