Short walk from village centre – approx. 20 mins. Remember to walk past Podkoren (past Ramada hotels) and you see some plaques describing the pond. Skip this entrance, as the route leads to a path parallel to the motorway. And you will be walking along this path with cars wheezing past for the next ten mins or so. Walk another... More

Like being in a fairytale story, and for us it wasn't even quite Spring... was late March. The little lake is super-turquoise and there's a nice lookout that would be great to have your lunch in. There's not much litter around here... please keep it like that for others;) The boardwalks around the little lake are nice too. Short walk... More

It's a very special, unusual spring of river Sava Dolinka in a peaceful nature. They made a viewing platform with information about animals that live there.

Zelenci is a beautiful and great natural spring, with icy cold water even in summer. It is not for swimming, but to look this bright green and turquise colours is so tranquilling times goes slower there. It is a must see if you are near, also with surroundings. Exceptional spring with lime stone and interesting bubbles.

An area of immense beauty this small water source feeds into the River Salva, and eventually flows through Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Hertsgovina and into the Danube in Belgrade. It is thus an ecological spot of importance for the whole of south Eastern Europe and it is even more fascinating to know that this source of water eventually leads out... More

At least the local authorities and people are making a great effort to use resources to produce a worthy natural wildlife facility in an area of natural beauty otherwise devoid of such a gem

Located near Podkoren on the road towards Italy is this nature reserve which is the source of the Sava. There was a short walk from here which took us to a bright blue lake and we were surprised to discover small bubbling holes in the base. It turned out there were small volcanic crevices which were producing the bubbling water.... More

This is a natural water spring of river Sava. There is a nice path to the place, which is also accassable with small cildren with a baby straller. It is around 5-10 minute walk from the car park. There is also a wooden tower, from where you have a really nice view to the whole natural park with springs. The... More
