It will not feel intuitive when you park at the side of the road where GoogleMaps tells you to park. However if you walk into the field and just look around, you'll see the sign about 20 meters away that points to where you want to go.
This is an interesting area with humbling history. If you're looking for a nice little 1-2 hour diversion, this should fit the bill.

If you are interested in military history this small site is worth visiting. It is part of the Pot Miru (Peace Path) linking the historic sights of WW1 Isonzo Front. To find it drive about 1km outside of Bovec on the Predel road on the right there is a parking place with a wooden cabin. Follow the signs into the woods and after about 5mins you will come to the Ravelnik defensive positions. This is a series of trenches, bunkers, caves and restored huts with explanation panels about the Austro Hungarian troops who defended these positions. I believe it is possible to have a guided tour.

Nice and easy walk through the WWI history. The location showed both on Google and TripAdvisor are wrong. Here the coordinate of the Parking lot from where you start the walk. 46* 20' 27.60" N - 13* 34'13.44"

This museum is not easy to find-- but well worth it if you are at all interested in WWI or read Hemingway's "Farewell to Arms." Even though our travel guide described exactly where to find it, we were still doubtful that we were in the right place. You can find it by looking for the wooden hut outside of Bovec, right by the side of the main road. From the parking lot, which shows a few panels on WWI history, you follow a small sign and a small footpath through the woods. Just keep going through the woods, until you emerge into a clearing and you will see the tunnels and shelters. There is no charge for the open air museum. It's fascinating to walk through the tunnels but they are not illuminated in any way, so bringing a flashlight, even in the day, will help you be able to explore the area more fully. It was eye opening to try to imagine how a large number of men were living in fighting in such tight quarters in this small valley.

This place is quite difficult to find, if you are travelling from Bovec, look for the sign on the right sitting behind some trees. The path takes you through the forest for a 200m and opens in to the site.

I love exploring, the caves and caverns and the construction is really impressive. I would recommend you bring a torch. We used the torches on our iPhone but I would have preferred a proper torch to get a better look.

I would highly recommend visiting this place. Its good to reflect on how tough the war must have been and what people went through when the main problem nowadays is trying to find a charger for something.

This museum is great! Could do with a little more information but being able to walk through the trenches, tunnels and look out points really brings WW1 to life as you imagine how difficult it was to fight in the mountains.

It is a little difficult to find, look for a car park at the side of the road under some trees - at the back of it is a sign for Ravelnik.

Also bring a torch to see in the tunnels, and some cat food for the cat - he lives in a little hut and there is a logbook for visitors to note down when he has been fed. He is very friendly!

There was a horrendous battle fought here in World War I To no purpose other than to slaughter too many young men. We found the museum very interesting. I went with 4 guys on a hot July morning and all the guys loved it.

This open air museum is on the road from Bovec to Kluže on the right side, a bit hard to find, but worth it. 250m from the road there is a trench complex, complete with descriptions of individual items. There are shooting ports, barbed wire etc.. to introduce someone to the concept of trench warfare.
All in all a nice place for families, but dont forget a torch..😊

We visited this place on a rainy day, it was fun to run along the path and find shelter when it rained a bit. It helped us to imagine how it could be during the world war. Mainly the boys found it interesting.
