You can either drive part way up the hill to the castle, or walk the entire way up. My husband and I walked up and it took us about 15 minutes. The most treacherous part of the walk is from the parking lot to the...More

I definitely recommend it, the view is mesmerizing and photos are not good enough, you have to see it for yourself. Also, the castle is fun, there is a small museum in it and it can be a learning experience as well.

You have to visit Bled castle when your here apart from the history the views are stunning it’s ten euros for a taxi but if your feeling fit there’s a uphill path and steps all the way

The castle is stunning to look at from the lake and from the outside when you get up there but thought it was dissappointing once inside, very modern. We walked up, not a good idea on a very hot day, we went up the main...More

We took a bus to the castle and had a guided tour of it. While not tons of history, there is a print shop there, a cafe and interesting rooms to visit in the castle. Great afternoon.

It is quite a climb from the lakeside up to the castle and although the view and the restaurant (especially the Bled cake) were worth the climb the exhibitions in the castle are not that interesting and a bit contrived.

The best part of this castle besides the amazing view was a priest in the wine cellar who was so nice and told as a story about the history of the lake and this part of Slovenia. We even bought a couple of bottles since...More

It's a surprisingly steep climb to get to the top of the hill, but the exhibits and the views are worth the effort.

The view of the castle is quite imposing, and the several hundred stairs to climb to the top are worth it for the views. There is not a great deal to do once inside the castle but it is interesting enough.

Husband and I hiked up to the castle for a sunset view. Nice, short half mile hike. I think 10€/per person is a little much but for us it was well worth it for the view! Best pictures we got on the trip! We also...More

Il ristorante del castello sembra chic ma non conosco i prezzi. Si sul lungolago c'erano dei chioschi con bevande, cibi ed oggetti. Lubiana è a 80 km da Bled. Saluti.

You can book a table by telephoning the castle, where a member of staff will redirect you to the restaurant. The number can be found on the castle's website.

There is no free shuttle bus. If you have someone elderly I would recommend a taxi. They can be organised at the shop beside the tourist information in the main town. I did not know about the wine cellar. However, if you... More
