Interesting museum

Lot of history here to read about. Very much worth the visit. The view from the castle is beautiful. It is a very touristic spot so was a bit crowded.

Bled castle stands very proud on a 130 m cliff above the glacial lake Bled and his image is worldwide known for the centuries. From his terraces is a spectacular view of the lake, of the island, to the mountain ranges of Karavanke and Julian Alps. The museum, castle forge, chapel, castle printing works are very interesting to visit.

Part of the castle interior was completely redesigned into a natural and ethnographic museum of the area, which is definitely interesting. The other part is essentially tourist stores that sell items purported to have been made by a blacksmith or old printing press. In any case, the castle interior does not capture what the castle was like over time and provide... More

Nice castle with great view of lake bled. You do have to pay to get in. There are quite a few different areas to explore including the battlement, the wine cellar, blacksmith shop, and museum (small but interesting). There is a fantastic view over lake bled. There is also a cafe and toilets.

The museum within this castle is a bit of a hidden gem. You look at the castle from the lake and think it to be a tiny place, but in fact it's actually a decent size with lots to see. We made the trip up for a few hours and had no regrets.

More

The castle itself is medium sized , very romantic, but not overdone. A huge bonus, due it 's high position, is an exvellent view on the lake , city and surrounding hills

The castle looks rather small from below but in fact it's rather big and rather unusual for medieval castles, probably it's the reflection of the open and joyful nature of Slovens as the castle doesn't look dark or menacing as most of the castles I saw.Open terrace with an excellent view on the lake Bled, the town of Bled and surrounding valley... This is one of the loveliest place of the World, a small Castle on the top of the cliff by the crystal clean lake and a little island with the ancient Church. In every season it is beautiful and the people are friendly.

This was our first time to visit a castle. We were surprised by the different levels of the design and the extent of the patios and paving stones. The museum is interesting. They did a good job restoring everything, even the toilets. I particularly enjoyed the printing room where a young man gave a demonstration of how they printed with... More
