Me and boyfriend visited Slovenia 2 yrs ago. We enjoyed the trip very much. We went to Lake Bohinj. It took us 3 hours to get here from Ljubljana bus station. Lake Bohinj is very beautiful and relaxing. We walk 5km to take the cable car going to a ski resort on top of the Julian alps.Although there is a... More

If you are looking for a calm place for the winter, it's nice to have everything there. Lake, skii, hike, river, little village. Not far from everything, but not too close. But if you looking for fun and excitement during winter... in lake bohinj, it might not be a best fit for you.. Please note that, in the summer is... More

This is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places I've seen so far. You can boat over to the island. We also ate at an incredible restaurant on the lake.

Lake Bohinj and the surrounding park land was the highlight of our trip to Slovenia. It is simply beautiful and breathtaking. Being the middle of winter there was no greenery but even then the view is just stunning. The walks along the park is very nice and peaceful and follows the stream/river which was frozen at places. There is the... More

Have you ever wondered what Lake Bled would be like without the town and the tourists? That would be Lake Bohinj! Granted it's not quite as large or impressive as Bled, but it's calm, peaceful and tranquilly beautiful.

Its a place which you will only see in the movies. Pristine waters, crisp air, few people around. We went in late summer so encountered an odd shower during the later day. Do visit this place is an hours drive from Lake bled. Easy to have a small picnic at the spot. Lot of outdoor activities options with restaurants all... More

Now admittedly, I am hugely biased. I love mountains and water. I also have a Slovenian heritage. All that said - WOW is the best descriptor for the area. We arrived at night so the splendour of the area did not hit us until the morning. We woke to beautiful mountains all around. The water in the lake is crystal... More

Very tranquil, peaceful spot with some trails. Beautiful lake, but no hotels and restaurants like Lake Bled - a nice change. On a pretty day, check it out.

Lake Bohinj is truly beautiful serene lake with its turquoise color surrounded with mountains. Nature at its best. The calmness that you feel as soon as your eye captures this beauty is something that everybody needs to experience once in their lifetime. At one side you have the lake and on other side you have beautiful green grass pastures and you... More

Unlike Bled, this massive lake cannot be traced with the human eye while standing in it’s waters because it kind of snakes around a bend. On one side, there is a thick forest with tall trees that grow right up until the start of the shore. Driving along Bohinj, campers dot this perimeter with brightly colored tents and clotheslines hanging... More
