We didn't go in as the tickets were over priced but just walking around he square was enough. Very beautiful but it's a reconstruction of the original.

I liked scenery when walking around the castle, visiting small shops and cafees. Cozy old buildings, although a lot of what you see has been restored after WW2 (some people said 80-90 was damaged by bombing during WW2).

You can find good food in this area, and still not that expensive despite all the tourists. Only downside is that it is quite small.

The Castle Square is a historic square in front of the Royal Castle, the former official residence of Polish monarchs. It is probably one of Warsaw's most popular meeting places for both tourists and locals. It derives its name from being opposite the Royal Castle. Warsaw's oldest secular memorial, a 17th century column celebrating King Sigismund III is found here... More

This is a happening place in Warsaw with castles, monuments, obelisks, palaces, historical churches and more. It is an area that was largely destroyed by the Nazi's in WWII so many of the buildings have been entirely rebuilt, including the Castle which is a main focal point in the square. It is very close to the Old Town Market which... More

Its hard to believe that so much of the square was destroyed in 1939 during WWII. It's great that the area has been rebuilt with shops and restaurants. It's always packed with both tourists and locals. It's also nicely decorated for the Christmas holiday! While you are there, be sure to take a tour of the castle. It's free on... More

Very pretty reconstructed square at the centre of the Old Town. It's very tourist-friendly and should be enjoyed as such. Plenty of places to eat and drink as well as people watch. It serves as a good base for exploring the city. It's very safe in that it is not rowdy and has many school trips visiting during the day.
