Tumski Island is the most important place to visit while staying in Poznan due to the history of this place and things worth seeing as for example ICHOT.

Quite interesting Cathedral, even though there is no possibility to climb to the roof and get a panoramic view. Don't miss the museums arround it.

Want to see a piece of Poznań's history? This is a must be. Close to Old Market, and Śródka's charming restaurants. Great place for a nice walk.

Close but separate from the city center, this little river island is very charming with a couple of side street which are well worth a stroll

The visit to Ostrow Tumski was fun. I had a number of local students show me around and then visited it again with the concentration on the Poznan exhibit. This presentation brings to life the founding of Poland on this island and the history of the country up thru the downfall of communism. It is very interesting and engaging. Allow... More

This island is where the city of Poznan started, way back in 966 AD. It features the Cathedral and a number of museums and beautiful buildings. It is possible to follow an audio-guided tour of the island starting at the Lock Gate of the Brama Poznania museum. This really helps to bring the island to life!

During my several stays in Poznan I haven't had a chance to visit Ostrow Tumski island and by the recent ocaasion finally I went there. Durign my visit the island there was a holiday event celebartion there so I had an opportunity to visit the place of Poland christianity and church during that holiday. Recommend to visit.

Where Poznan & Polish christianity began. Cathedral sumptuous. Easy to get to by tram from centre. Worth looking at old bridges at each end of island.

This island contains the Cathedral and other historic buildings which are the earliest parts of the city. Museums, the views, the Jordan bridge, the Porta Posnania are part of its attractions, it is never too overcrowded and the nearby area of Srodka is being restored and is up and coming, with a very nice new hotel and cafes opening.
