Great place to do some sightseeing, to relax and to commune with nature. The Cathedral, two great mueums and Brama Poznania- things you have to see being here.

I had a wander around the area whilst visiting the cathedral. It is one of the original settlements that developed adjacent to Poznan. A good excuse to get away from the more central areas.

A quiet island resonating peace and quiet. Similar to the one in Wroclaw which has the same name. The layout is also similar. But there are not too many tourists in the late hours. Sunsets are in harmony with the red bricks of the buildings...More

This area is really quiet and contains the Poznan cathedral and a few other buildings associated with it. It's a bit out of the way from the city, but the cathedral is definitely worth the effort of visiting.

A quiet Monday morning stroll around, few people milling around means you can appreciate the island and what it stands for in the historical context.

Wanted to see the cathedral so drove over to the island where it sits. En route, in the neighborhood near the cathedral, we saw a fantastic wall mural painted on the side of an old building which defies you to differentiate between what is painted...More

Cathedral Island was one of the main political centres in the early Polish state and the cathedral is one of the oldest churches in Poland, dating back from the 10th century.
