Plac Wolnosci ,aka Liberty Square ,aka Freedom Square is a really cool looking square that's a joy to walk through, the square is dominated by a modern glass fountain unveiled in 2012 known as Plac Wolnisci Fontanna ,so beautiful ,you can actually sit inside this fountain ,there's an interesting statue ( Posag Higiei Bogini Zdrowia ) and all around the square are great looking buildings ,it's popular and rightly so ,it's so cool ,it's most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Poznan.

Large square in the centre of Poznan.
I was there is August and it was packed with food & drink stands.
There is a modern glass fountain which the local kids were loving.
Lots of benches to relax on.
There are a few interesting buildings around the square although most are modern.

Liberty Square commemorates a 1918 uprising of Poles against their then Prussian rulers. It's surrounded today by market stalls but has its centre point a striking glass fountain you can walk through. It's a short walk away from the Old Town.

The first thing You notice when You walk into this square is a very big glas fountain.
It was one time a competition and the two examples was denied to be the winner one because it was to heavy.
This glas fountain was placed here in 2012 to the Euro 2012 championship in football.
The square is a place for many different activities. When I was there in middle of novwmber then they prepared christmas marked there. I guess it will be super.
There are a big library on the square and also a national theater.
It was the place to be for independence celebration.
Malta festival is arranged here.
Very often different celebration here like music, theatre, singing. conserts and cultural things like that.
I will focus on christman marked preperasion on my photo.

A large square in the center of Poznan. An important square in Poznań has historically played a large role, today independence celebrations are organized here. A local place where culture, city life, business and small trade meet. They are often held here theater performances, midsummer fairs, New Year's Eve parties, concerts and many others. When there are no events, square offers a place to rest on benches or by the fountain. There are also chess tables. Under the square, there is an underground car park and a toilet. Next to it, there is the National Museum and the Raczynski Library. Overall, this is very positive place.

Location of one of the two Christmas markets in December.
It was full of stalls and fair rides so we were unable to see the square for what it was.

A nice little fair close to the Christmas holidays, the old Town is a mix with traditional and modern both buildings and stores!

A modern side of the city.
Beautiful fountain (children like it), neoclassic buildings (banks mostly), and exhibition dedicated to Zloty currency and its history.
