An exhibition prepared for viewers of all ages. Their diversity - paintings, photographs, videos played on TVs - makes these exhibitions unique. The exhibitions feature 20th and 21st century art, making it understandable to all. Great museum location so you can explore the rest of the city

This won't be a long stop, but it is an interesting collection of modern art. There is something for everyone: video, paintings and mixed methods. Very nicely laid out.

Well set out and priced cheaply, in the central Lodz location of Manufaktura, this relatively small museum is worth a visit. But....the collection seems to focus heavily on the sad side of life, with many of the items war related or depicting struggles of one sort or another. Not that there is anything wrong with that but I came away from the Museum rather depressed, and with the impression that the vast majority of Polish artists (alive and dead) are all unhappy. Maybe that's a reflection of the country's history, but I'm sure that there are many artists who have a strong sense of humour and enjoy life, so maybe the curator could find a small corner or two to add a lighter touch to the galleries.

Fascinating collection of mainly Polish modern/contemporary art with connections to better known artists/movements in the 'west'. What makes the collection so wonderful is the point/counterpoint between these two bodies of work. There is a real dialogue going on, without any sense at all hierarchy. For those (like me) that dont know the Polish scene, the energy and quality of the local art is exhilarating. Truly eye opening. And when one considers the trauma of the Polish C20, the accomplishment is even more extraordinary.

Tickets are extremely cheap, if you're under 26 you will visit the exhibitions for 1 PLN! And I guarantee it's worth a lot more - fine international and Polish artists are displayed there and it's definitely worth an hour of your time (it's not a big exhibition, I would say they're prefering quality over quantity.

Went to this museum on a whim, having got a bit bored of looking round the shops at Manufacture. I have to say, it was the best thing we did in Lodz. Cheap to get in (free for our three children) and really good. All five of us (2 kids, 3 adults) found the art interesting and thought-provoking. The children were especially intrigued by a video installation that showed another part of the gallery - which they could also see the same time - in an unusual way. The restaurant is also worth a visit - they did us a great lunch, drinks and homemade cheesecake for less than £20. Brilliant.

Honestly the city of Lodz is a bit sad, but it's trying to recover and a great example of that recovery is this museum. Really surprising collection, Polish and international artists of the highest level. Well curated including the furniture and signage. The temporary exhibition on the ground floor is really minimal and designed in an interesting way. I highly recommend this museum.
