Great for breakfast

This is a former factory, now converted into luxury apartments and a small area with a cafe and a bar. The cafe does excellent coffee and pastries and is a popular breakfast spot.

Quiet renovated neighborhood

Great strolling around through this renovated neighborhood and beautiful park. Quiet, and less commercialized than Manufaktura.

Very classy place, great architecture, take you back over hundred years. Couple fancy cafe/bar/restaurant. Would be nicer to see more choice though but not too bad at all...

Cozy & peaceful 😇

This is a place where you can feel relaxing from very first step done. You can listen your steps - it is so much calm and you feel like at home. The place was build by Karol Schreiber one of the most popular industrialists in 📍Łodz.
The pace has it’s own small railway station, hospital, bank, pharmacy, stores, groceries and many restaurants and pubs. I can recommend Czech 🇨🇿 restaurant “Cesky film” and “Browar Ksiązy Młyn” 🍺

Nice Atmosphere

This is definitely a must see location in the very small town of Łódź. You can walk and pass through nice locations and end up here. You can buy varieties from the shops and enjoy in the small forest.

we stayed 2 days in Lodz and found time to go for a 1 hour walk to Księży Młyn area. It was a visit to real past which is under nice and extensive conservations works. A visit there gave us a real feeling of Lodż city 100 years ago and consider it much more interesting and valuable then visiting Manifaktura.

A first workers village in Lodz

This old workers place, very modern in the past with kindergarten for children and nice flats for worker in the past, lost the good reputation during the socialistic time. Since several years this area will be renovated and original inhabitants moved: nova day you will find galleries and some other artistic shops and nice coffee house collecting new generation and be new meeting point by walk in the city. New residents of loft flats and new workers of IT Companies are coming there for brake and many tourist are visiting the old fabric and village architecture.

XIX century city-in-the-city

Most of the visitors to the city of Lodz are more-or-less aware that it is a very good example of the big industrial city that "burst-out" of the small village-like city in the second half of the XIX c. But only few of them have a knowledge, that this is probably one of the last places on the Earth where you can see "classic industrial town" with the factory (unfortunately now in ruins), proprietor's palace and workers dwellings. This is what Ksiezy Mlyn is. For some visitors it may be interesting, that in the second half of the XXth c. factory was still active, and that was the only working factory where pope John Paul II visited the mostly women crew.

This complex is large

The buildings are monumental in size, especially the converted main structure. Other structures are in varying stages of being brought back to life. As a historical industrial site it is interesting to compare with the UK, where squalid conditions were endured by the workforce at home during the 19th century. Here, everything seem to have been provided for the workforce. Interesting to wander around the area.

Deep dive into history of industrial revolution

Great place to visit. Amazing complex of historical buildings and installations. You may touch the history of the industrial revolution in real.
Independent industrial city inside the city. Hard to believe it was built for the workers 150 years ago. Owner’s palace is surprisingly great.
