In a wonderful building there is an excellent library with very valueable manuscipts of i.e Miczkiewicz. The garden itself is an attraction.

Never went inside but garden is beautiful. Only thing that spoiled the tranquility was school party after school party trudging in for 5 minutes & then going again.

Ossolineum is a stunning palace building we chanced upon as my twin brother Stephen and I were wandering around the wonderful Old Town and what a great find.
The Ossolineum is a non profit foundation since 1947 that was founded in 1817 by Jozef Maksymilian that houses innumerable books, manuscripts, coins all relating to the rich history of Poland,I actually never ventured into the Ossolineum building itself but I did take in the stunning building that has a beautiful courtyard and garden area complete with wonderful statues and a lovely fountain.
As with most of the buildings in Wrocław ( then Breslau ) during WW2, this building sustained serious damage but post war was reconstructed in the beautiful Baroque style of architecture, the palace building looks absolutely stunning and is a really popular locals hangout out area.
Ossolineum is easy to locate on Ul Szewska in an area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination.
A fantastic building, one I highly recommend you visit if your in the area.
