Having checked in at our hotel late afternoon we decided to go for a walk and, firstly, came across the main shopping area in Zakopane. What a dump, full of touristy shops sellling tat, so many people smoking and, for the first time in Poland,...More

We went up to Gubalowka with the train and walked down. It was rainy day so the trip down was hard. Earlier I read that you have to wait in a long queue to buy tickets but for us it took 10 minutes. As I...More

Unfortunately we had a bad weather day, so it became about the ride up and back down, as we could not enjoy the views.

You CAN walk up to the top of Gubałówka....but a regular Funicular Railway takes you up in 3 and a half minutes. Once at the top, the views across to the Tatra Mountains are spectacular. I suspect that some people might find it something of...More

If you've got not very much time, but You still want to have nice view on Tatra mountains, you should take the Gubalowka cable car round trip and have about an hour walk between trips up and down. It is worth trying.

After a very heavy morning of rain, we decided to visit the Gubalowka in the afternoon instead. The funicular ride up took a few minutes to reach the top, where there was a vista of the Tatra Mountain on the opposite side of the town...More

Its hard to review zakapone. The scenery and mountains are breath taking but they have gone over the top with stalls selling stuff. The town is lovely but again is ruined with stalls. Quirky little shops would be much more attractive.

This is a great place to enjoy the view of zakopane. Plenty of benchs to sit at with views activities for children. And of course a whole host of stalls trying to empty your pockets along the back.

This is a lovely place to walk around, especially when the weather is good. They even have a beach at the top with deck chairs!! Plenty of stalls to buy little knick knacks and souvenirs.

You can buy the tickets while arriving. The price is about 8 euro's, up and down. When we were there it has been raining before. So in that case we give you the advise not to walk down. Because the path is muddy and slippery... More
