Food and souvenir stalls populated this square when we visited. The surrounding buildings are very nice as well. My partner and I shared a “big dog” which was tasty.

Not the most interesting place to visit, especially compared to the Glavny Rynek, but worth a visit for a nice local feel.

On the backside of St Barbaras Church and just conveniently away from all the noise of Rynek Glowny - the main square - you will find the nice little square called the New Market Square or the Small Square.
It is smaller in size than the main one; it is lined with beautiful buildings despite its past as hosting both butcher stalls, a public soup kitchen etc.
It is paved - and there are benches on all sides which allows for a very nice and quiet break from the tourist masses. It is also host to small festivals; when I went there was a piano concert on the square - very nice indeed!

This is my second time. First time there was festival and you can see lots of small stands selling local food and beer. Now still there are some of them but there are mostly local handcraft souvenirs which is nice and worth visiting.

This square is located a block away from the Main Market Square. It is lined with beautiful tenement houses.
In the Middle Ages, it was used as the meat market. In the 17th century, there were fights between Catholics and Protestants, who inhabited opposite sides of the square.
Despite the name, the square is not small. On our visit, it felt empty and very quiet. Maybe in the summertime, there is more action on this square.

Maly Rynek ( Little Market Square ) is a wonderful little square that's well worth checking out if you're planning a trip to Krakow.
Architecture around the square is beautiful, the most notable building here is St Barbara's Church ,a really beautiful church ,on the square are some great pubs, bars and restaurants ,Bierhall is one of my favourites but I also love to drop by The Bull Pub and Ronnie Drews Irish Pub,popular tourist pubs that day or night are always busy ,there's also a weekly market here that's both popular with locals and tourists alike ,all in all a great square to check out.

Until recently (2007) mainly used as a car park, but after thorough renovation now a lovely square with historic tenement houses, the Jesuit monastery and apse of Saint Barbara church. During the day there are many stalls selling local produce and souvenirs. Sometimes a stage is set up where traditional Polish art is performed. In the evening the rectangular square is usually more quiet, though at the northeastern corner there are many bars and restaurants where locals go out.

The Small Market Square was a place where goods that did not look or smell great were sold: mostly meat and fish. The trade disappeared from here with the advent of modern technology. Early in the 20th century a tramline to the Main Market Square crossed the centre of its smaller partner.
