Walking around the very interesting Kazimierz District ( Jewish Quarter) of Krakow you will see some really superb buildings that although a tad dilapidated still look fantastic, the whole area has a faded elegance about it and the High Synogogue is a perfect example. Although no...More

One of a collection of synagogues in the Jewish quarter of Krakow- a large impressive building on the pinpoint corner of several streets. It has an interesting interior also.

This is not in use, it's just a building on the side of street with a little bit of history on a board though it's a nice area to walk around

One of the older buildings we took in on our guided tour of the Jewish quarter which was very interesting and worth doing. They are trying to raise money via the shop a the bottom of the building for renovation and its badly needed.

The high synagogue has changing exhibitions. Currently the exhibition has a feminist slant. The rest of the exhibition deals with the Yiddish language. Worth a visit if you want to see inside an old synagogue.

Desperately sad to see how, like so many of the buildings in the Jewish area, have had to wait decades for their revival. This former synagogue, has an amazing bookshop downstairs. The entrance hall has all manner of prewar Jewish posters displayed, all available for...More

There was a display in the synagogue about the lives of Jewish residents of Krakow between the wars. There were many photographs and information about members of several families and their lives in Krakow. Many of members of these families were lucky enough to survive...More

I am lost for words with regards to this exhibition. It is so powerful to see the families and see that those lost have not been forgotten. A wonderful bookshop below. :-)
