Came with a private tour operator who provided transport from our hotel and back; then joined dozens of others for an English language tour. I thought the tour was well organized and we learned a lot about the camps. Worth the visit!

I have wanted to visit Auschwitz since history lessons at school. It felt surreal being there and what an incredible place - words cannot do it justice. The tranquility of the area, the buildings were interesting architecturally, if you didn't take account of where you...More

We visited on a rainy day, which seemed appropriate. We had a very good English language guide. I admired her. She had a speech impediment, but it didn't deter her from taking on a important educational role.

Went on an organised tour with pick up from the hotel. Tours held in groups of about 25 by language. Each tour led by an Auschwitz guide with excellent knowledge. I would not take anyone under the age of 12 due to the nature of...More

This is not a fun, easy trip but every visitor to the area should do it. The tour is a stark reminder of the vileness that man is capable of perpetrating on others.

My grandfather was a Polish political prisoner in Auschwitz. As such, I felt it was my duty to visit there and witness it. I believe everyone should go if they are in Poland. Please keep in mind, this isn't a salt mine tour. It's not...More

I'm visiting in two weeks time and can't walk very far without the use of a wheelchair or stopping frequently. Is this attraction disabled friendly and is there anything I should be aware of before?

Auschwitz requires a significant amount of walking. You will walk up and down stairs in multiple buildings and from one end of the camp to another. Almost the entire 3 hour tour is walking and you need to stay with the... More

Photographs are fine for almost all of the tour. The only part I recall the guide tellling is to not photo for respect of the victims is one room filled with painfully personal belongings. Through the tour is a difficult... More
