The gallery above the cloth market is quite beautiful in the paintings it possesses however I found the staff immensely rude, ignorant and uninterested in visitors. Security barked at us about bringing in heavy coats though nothing was said at the front desk! It really ruined the gallery for me. To the front desk sniggering at us in polish to... More

This gallery is in the heart of the centre of the Rynek (Main Square) in Krakow. Easily visited, a bit tricky to find. Upstairs (yes, there is a modern lift) over the Sukiennice (Cloth Hall), is a lovely art gallery of Polish art. Small enough to complete in about an hour, full of interesting art. Free on Tuesday (but check)... More

This gallery occupies part of the 2nd floor of the Cloth Hall. The entrance faces St. Mary’s. It is an tremendous exhibit of 19th Century Polish Art. The enormous Matejko pieces are stunning as well as many others including “Four in Hand” and “Szal”. Magnificent pieces of art displayed beautifully. If you are interested in art, do not pass up... There is only one level with 4 rooms. You only need 30 minutes top! It is right in the center of the town center, so you can do more shopping afterwards.

beautiful paintings in a well laid out gallery. it could have been a bigger collection but actually it meant that all the paintings could be enjoyed before 'art overload'!

Poland's chequered history has led to it being extinguished as a nation twice in the 18th century, and moving around the map both before and after those experiences; yet the Poles managed through all that to retain their distinct sense of national identity. This gallery, above the Cloth Hall, displays Polish paintings executed in the 19th century which give a... More

If you visit centre of Krakow and want to know more about history and art, and especially on a hot or rainy day, visit this gallery which is on the 2nd floor of Cloth Hall. Gallery is not huge, so you might spend only an hour there, but it gives a visitor historical, political and cultural understanding of 19th century... More

For some reason the art museums in Poland have divided painting in Polish and non-polish. Here you will many Polish painting of the 19th century. Beautifully displayed, and very pleasant, not very crowded on a thursday evening. Finish or take a break in the well-located café. I took a delicious strawberry-mint drink which cost 14 sloty.

It holds some of the best (and the largest) Jan Matejko paintings. The museum is located on the 2nd floor of the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) and the tickets are very cheap! You can reach the 2nd floor by stairs or by elevator.
