This gallery is situated in the Clothier's Hall in the Middle of the Market Square. It houses Polish paintings of the 19th-beginning 20th century. Especially interesting are paintings by Jan Matejko, Gierymski, Podkowiński, Malczewski.

Ok, I might have missed the signs that tell you to leave your coat before entering. But this doesn't excuse the fact that the ticket office person didn't tell us, the cloakroom attendant watched us walk by and when we went into the first room an aggressive little woman barked at us in Polish. Eventually she explained, again loudly and... More

This small gallery above the Cloth Hall has an interesting selection of paintings, many depict the struggles of the Polish people. Some painting are huge! It is easy to spend an hour here and it has free admission one day a week.

Went there with actually low expectations expecting to see a lot of modern art, but was pleasantly surprised to some assume works of art dating throughout the ages. Here are some of Poland's most accomplished artists work of art. It was truly inspirational and enjoyed that seeing all the exhibits could be seen in half a day. I recommend the... More

The visitor of Kraków is impressed by the great number of Museums which exist in this town. However he will soon discover that most of them are in fact a unique Museum (the National Museum of Kraków) whose artistic heritage has been fragmented and placed in 10 different locations in town; each of these branches has been given the rank... Even though this Museum is rated number 7 of all Museums in Krakow, on the day of our visit there was hardly anyone else around. I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this site and obtained quite a good impression of Polish Art. As far as we could tell, the museum consists of only two main galleries,... More

The gallery above the cloth market is quite beautiful in the paintings it possesses however I found the staff immensely rude, ignorant and uninterested in visitors. Security barked at us about bringing in heavy coats though nothing was said at the front desk! It really ruined the gallery for me. To the front desk sniggering at us in polish to... More

This gallery is in the heart of the centre of the Rynek (Main Square) in Krakow. Easily visited, a bit tricky to find. Upstairs (yes, there is a modern lift) over the Sukiennice (Cloth Hall), is a lovely art gallery of Polish art. Small enough to complete in about an hour, full of interesting art. Free on Tuesday (but check)... More

This gallery occupies part of the 2nd floor of the Cloth Hall. The entrance faces St. Mary’s. It is an tremendous exhibit of 19th Century Polish Art. The enormous Matejko pieces are stunning as well as many others including “Four in Hand” and “Szal”. Magnificent pieces of art displayed beautifully. If you are interested in art, do not pass up...
