You will not want to miss the beautiful paintings, statues, and Icons in this wonderful Church. Also, Poland is one of the best places to buy souvenirs in Europe as the you et so much more for your money there. We ended our tour in the Prague. Prague was much more expensive for similar items.

My husband and I drove 3 1/2 hours to get to Czestochowa from Zakopane to see the icon of the Black Madonna (before backtracking almost 2hours to arrive finally in Krakow) at the suggestion of a dear friend, a retired priest. The monastery complex is most impressive, including multiple chapels as well as an armory, confessionals, Knights' Hall, monuments, and... More

Geting there: advised to check with your hotel to find times of coaches on web for departing the coach station at Krakow, Write down the advise received then show the paper to the ticket office. They may attempt to sell you a high priced coach. We took an express smaller coach for 20 Polish Z, ( Kayatrans or Sigma bus)... More

The Black Madonna is the main attraction here. But, this whole place is very inspirational and rich in history, very well loved by the Polish people! Spending time with the Black Madonna was surreal! Don't forget to visit their garden and it will surprise you!

Whether you're Polish or not, Catholic or not, this shrine -which is located roughly halfway between Warsaw and Krakow - is truly a MUST-SEE. Before getting to this site that sits atop a hill, I highly suggest you research "The Black Madonna" and why this pilgrimage site is so important to Poland that its citizens will passionately make days-long journeys... The Black Madonna of Częstochowa is a revered icon of the Virgin Mary housed at the Jasna Góra Monastery. If you enter main church then you need to take left and you will find it. Or just follow the people as it is main goal of all visits there. This icon is very important place in Polish history. The Black... More

I visited Chestochowa with no expectations, however I was pleasently surprised when I reached the Josna Gora Monastery. Since I do not have a car, I took publich transport - for only 20 zloty you can get from Krakow to Czenstahowa. The bus ride lasts around 2 hours and a half, but if you prefer train, the tickets for 40... More
