This was an interesting and well put together sight. It makes you think about the transience of life, which perhaps is a bit too macabre if you are just enjoying a little holiday. We enjoyed it though and we learned a lot as well. Also super clean toilet :P

the vaults and history were fascinating and the mummies of the monks were very interesting. Worth the trip.

Fantastic, enlightening experience giving an insight into times gone by. Full of fascinating and relevant information about the monks/nobles and surrounding Brno.

The vault contains the coffins of nobles, some of them galss-covered, who gave the monastery financial support. ONe is still in his cavalry officer's unifrom, including great knee boots. Further on the monks are simply laid out in their brown robes on the floor, their bones covered in shriveled skin. It is remarkable how this monastery and many other religious... More

The vault is tucked behind the church an although you may have read a review of it nothing can prepare you for just how amazing and moving this place is. Essentially it contains the mummies of a number of the great and the good and well as monks who have been left to desiccate. The important people are in glass... More

It's a place that will make you reflect on your own life. Very spiritual experience. Best to visit it alone so you can focus on every detail.

A fascinating place right off the main square. The mummies are in a variety of coffins or just laid out and in very good shape. (70Kr entrance and 30 kr photo – together about $4). Very small - only takes about 1/2 hour to view.

This is an unusual place since over 40 mummies of monks are kept in a crypt underneath the monastery. There is a story here which is very interesting. Although it is somewhat eerie, it is suitable for children and there are English translations. It takes only about a half hour or so to go through the crypt. Well worth a... More

Kind of creepy but interesting as they say "As you are we once were" and "As we are you will soon be" or something like this. There is also some interesting history about the town that you probably won't get anywhere else. Definitely better than the crypt.

If in Brno I'd definitely recommend visiting the crypt. Quite a small place but lots of fascinating information (available in several languages) accompanies the displays and bodies.
