Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

Located on one of the largest square's in the world namely Karlovo Namesti ( Charles Square ) is New Town Hall,a wonderful looking building that dates from the early 1400's .
I love the look of this building, its Gothic its imposing, it's a building that commands your attention, for a small fee you can ascend to the tower which offers great views of the New Town, if you're near Karlovo Namesti it's most definitely well worth checking out.

Make sure you plan this in to your visit. You will definitely be rewarded with stunning 360 views of the city and surrounding area. Don't forget to look in the rooms at the top where there is information about the history of the tower and displays of the historic landscape.

Lovely to look at from the outside. I didn’t bother going inside as it was quite early in the morning, and no one seemed to be around anyway.
Don’t think it’s worth making a special trip out just to see this, but if you’re in the vicinity, by all means drop by and have a boo!

A large and imposing tower looming over the New Town Hall. The hall itself is mostly closed to the public except on certain occasions, but one can climb the tower and see great views over the city. The current building itself is slightly later than the Hussite era, but at the beginning of the Hussite era, the first of the defenestrations took place at this site, making it a pivotal point in the history of the Czech lands and all of Central Europe.

The building tower has a nice view, nevertheless more value as a tourist attraction is contained in the history. At the end of July 1419, the first defenestration occurred here, during the last days of Wenceslaus IV life (the eldest son of emperor Charles IV). That was a precursor of Hussite Wars.

Got a Town Hall Pass at Old Town Hall Tower which included access to this New Town Hall Tower too.

Unlike the Old Town, this tower doesn't have a lift so be prepared to climb stairs. As I progressed upwards it started looking more like it was set up for boxing classes (later the staff at the entrance explained that it was an exhibition).

I climbed 2 flights of steps and gave up because the wooden stairs didn't feel too sturdy and there was no one else around. So didn't make it to the top.

Didn't think the view will be too different from Old Town Hall Tower top. So I would say go only if you have nothing else to.

The views from the top of New Town Hall are excellent. There is no elevator but the nearly 300 step climb is worth the effort. Construction on this tower began in 1348! Not crowded which makes it a nice break from the Old Town area!

The tower just off Karlovo Namesti provides wonderful views of Prague and the surrounding area. Renovations have been completed. The tower dates back to the 14th century and houses an art gallery that on this visit had works by artist Jan Samec on display. The climb up to the observation deck might be a little challenging but is certainly worth the climb.
