Difficult to find, (it is quite near Old Town Square) but well worth a visit, if Medieval art is of interest to you. A great collection from 1100 -1600. Very well laid out and presented, except some of the labeling is a bit confusing. Excellent examples of Bohemian wood carving - really amazing condition and skill, bearing in mind that... More

Was pleasantly surprised at the beauty and charm of this historical Convent. We were hotelled right by it and wandered in through one of the garden entrances not realising there is a fantastic space inside that is free to explore. The grounds have some lovely modern sculpture and useful description boards telling the history of the town-within-a -town. Then inside... More

Apart from priceless collection of medieval arts (which is part of the National Gallery), you can find a spacious art studio for kids. I have a 2year old, and she already enjoyed stamping, drawing, pressing paper etc...but it's great for even older kids. All activities with St. Agnes of Bohemia themes, so no kitsch and still educational...

I would recommend this place for people who have more than one week in Prague, or that aren't there for the first time. The czech capital has many other more interesting places to visit.

We did not have to pay to get in because we were part of a walking tour. Lucky for us. The convent does not have any furniture so it more of an set of large empty rooms. Interesting but not very overwhelming. If you miss it, you did not miss a lot, but if you are in the area nice... More

Really enjoyed our short visit here and were surprised that it was so quiet as it really is a bit of a hidden gem. Its probably a good 10 - 15 min walk from Old Town Square close to the river but it was very impressive both the exhibition and the architectural features of the convent which is still in... More

Great place to go if you're a fan of gothic and medieval art. The setting of an old convent adds to the atmosphere. It provided a reflective and pleasant afternoon in Prague. I will say that compared to other museums in Prague, this was an expensive ticket.

Especially of religious medieval art. I loved it, there are so many beautiful Gothic sculptures, and Late Roman ones too. And the exhibition is very informative, so it's a must see for fans of history too. Unfortunately at the moment many of the artefacts are loaned to the exhibition for the 700th anniversary of Charles IV's birth in Nuremberg, so... More

As others have suggested, this is a very good museum. What I hadn't anticipated was that the Bohemian art of the medieval period seemed somehow more personal than what I have seen in Italy or in France. More expressive, more emotional. There are not many tourists which means it is possible to really contemplate any particular work of interest and... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
