Beautiful Cathedral!

St. Vitus is a wonderful cathedral to visit. Fantastically beautiful stained glass windows! Visit early (when it opens) since there is always a long line of visitors.

A highlight of the Prague Castle complex. Gorgeous from both, outside and inside. The mixture of Renaissance and Baroque elements into Gothic architecture of the building makes this hundreds years old cathedral unique and breathtaking.

Go and spend at least an hour inside. So many shrines, stained glass, carvings, art, and amazing stories.

St Vitus is amazing in size and intricacy of paintings and architectural details. Incredible history about it. Can be very crowded mid morning to mid afternoon, but should not be missed. Fine for quick self guided visit, but better with a guide to understand all the details. Number of interesting, very intricate chapels.

As with almost every building in Prague in May, the exterior was under construction and was covered by scaffolding. But the inside is spectacular! A definite must-see if you visit Prague.

Breathtakingly beautiful Cathedral at Prague Castle. If you only visit one attraction there this must be it. This is a magnificent Cathedral with beautiful stain glass windows. There were so many beautiful churches in Prague and this was probably our favourite. Not to be missed.

This cathedral was started in 1344 and finished in early 20th century. You will need at least 2 hours to go through cathedral and see it inside and out.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
