St. Nicholas Cathedral is a very interesting place to visit in Old Town Square. It is a living monument of Prague's history and has gone under multiple re-builds over last few centuries. There is a story board inside the church which shows the history and architecture of the church and how it has evolved over time. The interior is very... More

The Cathedral is located in Lesser Town. The exterior with the statuary and gold highlights invites you to see more. As you get closer more detail is revealed in its glory. The door is even awesome. Upon entering, (yes a small fee is collected for maintenance of these aging structures), you'll be awestruck within three steps. The painted ceilings, surviving... More

It is not expensive but I hate to pay to visit churches! It is however a nice church to see. We visited the church after visiting the castle: it is walk-able!

St. Nicholas Cathedral in Lesser Town is a beautiful baroque style marvel. We climbed the tower just before sunset. This offered unbelievable views and photographic opportunities of Prague from day to night.

Worth going inside if you are in the area, admission is 70kr. Inside the architecture and statues are very beautiful, you can also climb the stairs to have a view. Doesnt require a long visit at all.

On the walk from the New Town to the Royal Palace we stopped in St. Nicholas Cathedral for a look around. There is a small admission charge to go in and look around. The Cathedral is large inside with plenty of picture opportunities. You can also walk around some of the upstairs balcony area on one side but cannot go... More

Saint Nicholas Cathedral is a beautiful Cathedral that is well preserved and very well maintained. Amazing how the Cathedral was built back in the day. Definitely worth a visit !

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
