Amazing tower of Prague

Our capital has two "nick names" - golden city and the city of 100 towers. So, it is not important which tower you will visit - it is always an interesting trip.

So historical and beautiful. You will want a few days to visit this area of Prague. Make sure you eat at Sisters.....great sandwiches after touring the town.

This is a pretty impressive example of baroque style architecture. While in some ways fairly austere, the decoration is larger than life and so intricate. The friezes on the ceilings were partly obscured due to renovation, but those in the massive dome were still able to be viewed. Certainly worth a visit.

This Cathedral is stunning and we spent over two hours looking at the art and statues. Well worth the time.

A massive, beautiful church in Old Town Square having amazing fresco and artwork on the inside. A tourist magnet no doubt and rightly so.

Very nice church, but get there early! They do not open until 10 and close at 4. They do have concerts after 5pm.

The title says much of my review for me. The sheer volume of gold in the church is remarkable. That, combined with the statues and the artwork were really impressive and well worth the visit. Nice short walk to Charles Bridge as well.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
