The Old Town Hall is one of the most significant monuments in the Czech Republic. It was established in 1338 as the administrative seat for Prague's Old Town. Now, it is mainly used for the ceremonial purposes of the capital city, Prague. The historical town hall consists of a set of five medieval houses, the corner of which is adorned with a historical astronomical clock, a gothic oriel window and a massive rectangular tower. The lookout gallery on the town hall tower offers the most beautiful view of Prague. A tour of the historical halls in the Old Town Hall is a unique experience. The expensively decorated rooms date from various periods and are examples of the remarkable development of the town hall complex. The guided tours in various languages are organised in half-hourly intervals.

The Astronomical Clock is popular especially on the hour when all the action takes place! Then you should take a trip up the tower to get a great view of the city and take some memorable photos. The next day we decided to take a tour of the Old Town Hall, it was the last tour of the day so... More

The clock is really quite beautiful. Make sure to visit on the hour to see the automata working. The square is lively and had a jazz band playing when we visited.

We have climbed many towers and this one really is most accessible (only a small spiral stair at the very top) as the rest can be done via lifts. Superb view off the top and as its open till 10pm you can visit later on when it's quieter

The astronomical clock located in the centre of the Old Town. Beautiful tall buildings and amazing architecture surrounds the clock. This is defiantly something everyone should see when visiting Prague. When the clock hits the hour, certain parts of it opens up and displays a performance for the hundreds of people gathered at the bottom. Death rings his bell and... More

You really need a nice fully charged camera for this one... I view it as an impressive outdoor museum. There is just so much to see and do with history everywhere. Restaurants, paintings, architecture, iconic buildings restaurants bars, you name it.. The 600 year old mechanical astronomical clock is Located there. It's one of the most busiest square I have... This is such a beautiful location - great for lone travellers and groups, you may just wear your camera out! Be very careful around here at night if you are alone esp' if you are female, there are a lot of strange men hanging around, fortunately they left me alone.

A great technical achievement and a great centre piece of a magnificent city. At the top of the tower you have great views of the square it is actually higher than it looks. Well worth the trip as the whole tower is present very well.

A building of rare beauty. The tower and the palaces around it are elegant and colorful. Every hour, the puppets of the 12 apostles can be seen through the little windows upon the clock. You can walk on the top of the tower to see the roofs of Prague, something you won't forget. At night, the square is illuminated by... More

Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
