This was the best part of Pargue. Take your time in this area of the city and have something to eat, go to the top of the astronomical clock, go into the art galleries, get Czech dessert from a street vendor! I spent a lot of my time here and even ran back before going to the airport on my... More

We stayed very close to the Old Town Square so most of our forays out on foot including going through the Square. Lots of room to people watch, cute markets occaisionally, and of course that clock. The bordering buildings are enough to capture your gaze for a long while at the very least.

We travelled in Prague around Christmas which is a best time to see this wonderful old city! We enjoyed travel the old town with full Christmas market shops all around! Prices were pretty great for what were looking food. Food stalls were pretty basic with no surprises between them. However, in any season of the year you must this place... More

Visiting Easter Week meant that the square was full of vendors and lots of Easter decor. Pork cooked on a spit, sausage, ice cream, desserts, tourist paraphernalia and beer were all available. For a cleaner look at this square and all the beautiful architecture skip Easter week. We were told that other weeks have celebrations also.

Very interesting area. Lovely little back streets with plenty of restaurants. The only thing that spoils the area is the graffiti. It was everywhere. Why don't they clear it off?

There is no tourist in Prague who does not visit this square to see the monument of Jan Hus, the church of St. Nicholas, the Kinski palace, the Old Town Hall and, above all, the notorious astronomical clock that carries its "performance" every hour. We visited Prague during Easter, and there were stalls in the square where they sold typical... More

Old Town Square is great. The buildings that surround it are beautiful. The little stalls of food, drink, and trinkets are something to see. Plenty of choices to pick from wether it was Prague Ham, sausages cheeses or beer. A must to see everyday you are in Prague

I highly recommend sitting in one of the cafes in the square near to the famous clock that strikes every hour on a sunny day. The square is beautiful and has a great charm and it is interesting to watch the many tourists.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
