We really wanted to see what promised to be a lovely Baroque library! However, locating the correct entrance to purchase tickets was a little tricky. It is in the courtyard, not the Main Street. Tickets are timed due to limited access. Earliest tickets gave us an hour wait. Of course it is a very old building, but the steps were pretty tough. The library room is dark, and you can only see it through glass windows from one perspective. Truly you can get a better sense of the space online. The tour includes many more and steeper steps to get to the top of the tower.

The library is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The tour takes just short of an hour and the guides are really good- our guide was articulate and helpful and could answer any question we asked. The building is really atmospheric and definitely worth a visit. However if you don’t have e-tickets booked in advance, you must make sure to be in queue to buy them in person by 9:00 at the latest- ticket office opens at 10:00, but unless you queue early, you may not get a ticket for that day (we arrived at 9:05 and there were already over 40 people waiting, so we just about managed to get the last available tickets).

We had a lovely time! The library is just stunning, and the lady giving us the tour was very knowledgeable and easy to understand even for some of my family members who are not fluent in English. They also had written materials in other languages. The stairs were a bit challenging at times, but they gave people plenty of time to climb and enjoy the view. Highly recommend!

I would recommend getting tickets in advance to avoid waiting in a long queue for a ticket. The tour lasts about 45 minutes, and takes you through to the Baroque Library and up multiple floors (with other attributes) to a stunning panoramic view of Prague. Our tour was given in English, but had information cards in a myriad of languages for others to follow on if they wished. I believe our tour guide was called Lukas? He was lovely! Incredibly helpful, very knowledgeable and engaging, answering everyones questions. It is worth noting that there is no lift available, and the majority of the climb is a spiral staircase. This is made known to you at the start :)

Everything others said about not being able to go inside the poorly lit library, rushed tour are true. It’s really not worth what you pay for. The tour guide showed us virtual photos of the interior of the library and that’s as close to the inside as you’re gonna get (hence everyone has the same photo of the library). The tiny area where you can see the library from outside is so small that each person has maybe 1 min to see it before they had to move out to make room for others. The view on the top was nice but the stairs were steep, it’s not for everyone. This is one of those things you do because it’s your first time in Prague but you’ll never want to revisit.

Beautiful and magical library and tower, gorgeous views and an absolutely brilliant tour guide!! While you dont cover much ground across the (huge) Klementinium complex, the tours provide tonnes of historical insight. Contrasting to some other tour guides we’ve had, our guide Miroslav was friendly, funny, passionate and had great English skills! Strongly recommend!

We absolutely loved our tour of Klementinum! Our guide Julie was really lovely and enthusiastic and shared some interesting stories about the history of the library and the astronomers who have worked there over the centuries. The tower has a fantastic 360 view of Prague! Top tips: get your ticket in advance, otherwise you will probably have to come back later/another day! You can purchase them directly from the Klementinum website if you can’t get them through a tour company. The tour starts inside the ticket office so don’t be afraid to walk past the queue if you have purchased your tickets ahead of time. Slight warning: if you have mobility concerns, the tour includes walking up a number of very steep and in places uneven staircases! Be prepared to walk up 172 steps! Overall, we were very pleased that we went - it felt like quite a unique experience!

We bought our tickets online so we could skip the line! The tour was very interesting, we had a pleasant guide. She gave us lots of information but not to many details We first went to the library. You can not enter the library but it is allowed to take pictures from the entrance where you have a nice view. After the library we went to the astronomical tower Be prepared for a lot of stairs !!! The astronomical tower was very interesting as well, we saw a lot of old astronomical instruments. Once we've reached the top, we got an amazing view over the city ! This guided tour is about 50minutes.

Wonderful building, especially the library. Great tour guide (George) who explained things clearly in English, and who was ready to answer questions. Breath-taking view although struggled with the steep step. Do not go if you have impaired mobility. No toilets available.
