Pavel is a good tour guide who really know much about queer history! it is such a great day with him as he told us many about how gay men life was in communism! Also, he speaks very good English so that we can have great conversation about the history in Prague!

Tour guide Pavel led us to meet queer heritage in the communist era, which is really unique and meaningful. You can't imagine in a city like Prague, queer heritage and "legendary stories" are well-maintained like that! We spent more than five hours walking and immersing the past lives. P.S. We are journalism students from Hong Kong China. Language barrier is... More

Our international group enjoyed the well-organized iPad Rallye in Prague's city center. The groups had to solve various tasks and make photos, the game was full of interesting facts and showed us Prague from a rather untypical perspective. I can only recommend this scavenger hunt, we had a great deal of fun.

Thank you, thank you to Sarka Avantgarde Prague! I wanted to organize an exceptional and personalized trip for 33 people in Prague. Šárka has not counted her time and energy to find good ideas and organize this trip which was a success in every way. Exchange with Šárka was always a pleasure thanks to her dynamism, constant good humor and... More

We went on the visit to the Jewish quarter which lasts 3,5 hours. We were around 10 in the group. The guide gave the tour in French. Her French is perfect and her historical knowledge is absolutely excellent. It was really interesting to get to know all the history about this area and the people who used to live there.... More

I was impressed with the good level of the Portuguese spoken by our guide Hanna. After all, the languages are so different!! She was able to answer all my questions and the 6 hour tour gave us a very good idea of the city ans its beauties. On the first day there was no Portuguese speaking guide available, but the... More

I went on a tour with a guide around Old Town and then for a boat ride with a group of visiting friends. The guide was friendly professional and knowledgeable and the boat ride was awesome, really enjoyable. It was good value for money and even though Im a local I really enjoyed the whole experience

We went on the day-tour of Kutna Hora. The tour was very disorganized. The tour guide spoke multiple languages, and I suspect didn't speak any of them well. Most people on the tour were left wondering "Where and when did she say we'd meet?". It was also a whirl-wind tour - there wasn't enough time for anything we visited and... More

Staying in Josefov

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefov
Josefov houses Prague’s Jewish community. This small neighbourhood centered around Široká street is completely surrounded by Staré Město (Old Town). As the former Jewish Ghetto, today all that remains are a few synagogues and the oldest surviving Jewish cemetery in Europe. The narrow streets were once small enough that a person could touch the houses on both sides. You can still feel the dignity and history this neighbourhood carries in its legacy as Franz Kafka’s birthplace. Nearby streets are full of kosher restaurants, museums and antique bookstores.
