My twin brother Stephen and I were exploring around this quite overlooked area of the city ,we were heading to Folimanka Park but spotted this church which looked amazing and interesting .
Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marue A Sv Karla Velikeho Na Karlove ( Church Of The Assumption Of The Virgin Mary And St Charles The Great ) ,the church was founded by Charles IV in the Nusle Valley in 1350 and was part of the Augustinian Monastery ,the most distinctive feature of this church that I could see was the dome ,the work of architect Bonifaz Wohlmut ,the famous master builder of Emperor Ferdinand I court ,there's a legend that the master builder made a pact with the devil to create such a wonderful looking vaulted roof , when the scaffolding was removed by setting it on fire the master builder panicked and threw himself into the Vltava River but as you can see the dome survived ,it's a wonderful church to view if you're in the Praha 2 District and easy to locate along Ke Karlovu.
