As we were short for time, we decided only to visit the museum. We were given an English headset, which corresponded with some numbers on TV's around the museum.

It wasn't clear which numbers corresponded with what the audio was talking about. I ended up just wandering around the museum and admiring the amazing glassware. Still, this was a pleasant thing to do - particularly as the weather wasn't great.

For such a small museum, 130 does not represent good value for money. I can't say that the museum was much more impressive than the sales room, which is, of course, free. Next time, we would like to do the tour of the factory itself - this sounds a lot more interesting.

We rented a car and drove from Prague to Karlovy Vary for a day trip in May 2024.
We tried to book a Glasswork Tour online, but it was sold out for the day we were going to be there. When we stopped there, we were able to get tickets to the Moser Museum (2 Adults = 300.00CZK or $12.91USD). We used an audio guide to tour the museum at our own pace, which showcased the history (160 years) of the Moser glassworks. We saw the oldest glasswork pieces to contemporary collections, as well as pictures of well-known owners of Moser crystal. I might have been more impressed if we had been able to do the Glasswork Tour. The museum also had a place where they were showing a video or documentary, but apparently that was only available to the tour groups. I collect Christmas ornaments and have purchased one from every glass factory we have visited around the world. I was very disappointed that the Moser Sales Gallery did not have anything in this category. Parking was free.

Great spot for the whole family. Better to arrive early in the morning. 45 min guided tour, 30 min museum, 20 min shop. You will love this place and its products! PS: shopping centre 5 min walk from Moser factory

Well if you've been in Venezia and have visited the glass workshops at Burano, you can skip this one.

The reason of my low rate is that we should have skipped it and enjoy the town itself which is lovely. Reason being that the weather was splendid and the 2 hours we spent there (in an organized tour) would have been better used in the streets, colonnades, and parks of Karlovy.

I have been told later that the visit at the Moser Factory is a "filler" for organized tours...Not the best choice ...

The factory itself is interesting as you can see on the pictures I have attached but the bottom line is to make you buy their work (to be fair, some of them are truly masterpieces), however they are way to expensive for us ... Not in our league anyway...

So as I wrote, if the weather is not friendly you might be there, otherwise ...
We would have preferred to tour the lovely town of Karlovy...

Moser supplies people such as Queen Elizabetch, sheiks families, world movie super stars..........you can always recognize Moser due to its typical shapes and quality. So expensive not many people can afford it, but totally gorgeous. Perfect wedding gift or present for a life time..........Museum is quite amazing, one can learn a lot of the crystal production and history. Nothing like seeing the real thing. Recommend.............

Thanks to TA, I was informed of this "thing to do" when you are in Karlovy Vary. Check at their website for a first taste and info regarding opening times etc. From the city center, a taxi drive (CZK 300) will drop you outside in 5 minutes. Inside, you can see almost all the master pieces of Moser collection, watch video regarding their history and the way of making them. For an extra price (not too high) you can enter the factory area and see the ovens, the workers, the technicians doing their job - art live... We stayed inside for 15 minutes and watched many glasses taking form and life, in front of us, taking pictures and talking with the workers. End of the visit, is the shop were you can see (and in case you afford it, buy something for home). Prices didn't seem to be much lower than in Prague official shops, but if you already are interested in buying something from their collections, check prices before at the internet or at the Prague Shops, so you can finally same some hundrends of Czech Koronas.

Tip: Returning to town can be cheaper if you just step outside, turn left and catch the local Bus, in front of the big TESCO supermarket.

Wow you would never see this in the US, you actually go on the factory floor and are just a few feet from the workers that are working with 1000 degree glass. Workers are allow 4 beers per 8 hour shift, my kind of job! But also they eat and smoke while they are working, which is so unusual coming from the US. You really get to see how the glasses are made. I would definitely recommend this tour.

During a trip to Karlovy Vary, we decided to take a tour of the Moser crystal factory. Moser crystal is the top brand of Bohemian crystal. The tour was amazing. We were a small group consisting of my wife and 3 year old as well as 2 friends. It was amazing to see the world's top crystal makers in action and to see how wine glasses and vases were handmade. At the end of the tour a nice lady gave my son a crystal figurine and a crystal maker gave my wife and my friends fiancee a crystal rose. Our guide was extremely friends and answered all our questions. Her English was outstanding. I learned alot during the tour and considered it a day well spent. Moser crystal is very expensive and I am by no measure wealthy. I invested in a more affordable set of wine glasses from Moser. The tour ensured that my new wine glasses will be a lifelong keepsake.

The Moser glass museum features both displays of glass and a tour of the glass factory. The museum showcases some fascinating older pieces and many new "art" pieces. Tours of the glass blowing are available in English. If you've been to Murano, Italy, you will discover different techniques here. It was great to watch the glass being both blown and shaped by wooden forms. The guide was very good and really explained the different stages of the production process. SAFETY TIP: There are literally no safeguards here, it is not a place to bring children who cannot reliably behave or adults with balance issues. Also, it does get extremely hot and smokey, so asthma sufferers should also be on notice. At the end of the tour, you exit through the store, but surprisingly, the factory prices are not discounted - you'll find the same pricing at the Prague stores. The stock is also not better at the factory - whatever is on hand is what you can buy.

In this museum which is just 5 minutes away by taxi from downtown Karlovy Vary, beautiful pieces of famous Moser glass artwork are displayed. The building itself is not fancy at all, the museum is also very small but shows Moser pieces produced throughout the years since its establishment. As the museum is adjacent to the factory where the Moser glass artworks are manufactures, there are also guided tours at specific hours where one can witness how manually these elegant artefacts are created. The timing of such tours are given in the web page of the museum. These guided tours are more attractive and interesting than the museum displays. Next to the museum, there is also a Moser shop, sort of an outlet where a wide range of Moser glass artwork are sold for the prices that are almost 1/3 of the retails prices of Moser shops in Prague or in any other city in Czech Republic. So, if you intend to buy any Moser pieces, it would be pitty to pay enourmous amounts at retails shops now that this museum shop offers much lower prices. I recommend the museum if you're interested in the production of glass and if you plan to buy something from Moser. If not, going there might be a loss of time.
