Super place, but have to check if it was not under a fire.
This is why german side was a much better experience then a Czech one.

Mountain range with wonderfully walks and unique sights to behold. There are rivers, dark fairytale forests and immense rocky formation and gorges to look at and be amazed by.

The Czech side is less develop so more for adults as there are not many parking places to get close to sights with little kids, like on the German side.

But then it's also much quieter and undisturbed.

This is a great park and I'm so glad that I went. Originally Bing showed a picture of the Bastei Bridge in the park as one of their wallpapers and I became so taken with it that I did some research and booked a hiking trip. The Saxon Switzerland National Park lies on the border between Germany and the Czech Republic and you can easily access the park from either country. I went from Prague on a 14 hour day tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rock formations are captivatingly awesome and the bridge lives up to it's reputation. Because our tour left very early we ended up being the first on the bridge so the photos we got were spectacular. Also great views of the Elbe River. Not much of the original fort remains. After lunch we hiked down the side of the mountain to a river gorge, walked along it until we took a dinghy through the sandstone walls of the Kamenice Gorges. Absolutely worth it. Good hiking shoes are a must. Fortunately my tour was well paced with rest stops and meals.

It is worth to spend one day in Czech-saxon Switzerland. you would feel amazed about the power of the nature. you need to prepare a lot of walking when you visit there. we were quite tired for a few days afterwards. We love everything there, the scene and the boat ride.

This is worth the hike and the time. Parts of the hike can be tough but once up top there are restaurant and shops for water and items. Great view of the surrounding. Can be tough with little ones though.

If we could choose again we would rather stay in Mezni Louka or close instead of Hrensko as our starting point of our hiking trips because:
1. The Town Hrensko is totally dominated by the Asian market where you can buy fake "designer" clothes, bags and other chinese rubbish. On the other hand, the o lu place where you can buy a simple souvenir is the tourist info Office.
2. The quality if the restaurants is rather doubtful. The prices are as high as in Prague.
3. The Town goes to sleep around 8pm. There 's nothing to do then.
4. It seems almost impossible to pay with credit card and the only 2 cash machines charge a really big commission.

I can imagine that I have been watched many related movies like the places. My wife loved the bridge and the long trees in the Forrest. Our trip was stunning!!!

This is a must day trip if you are visiting Prague. It is where many movies were filmed. There are a number of quaint villages to stop and stroll through. The views were spectacular.

This was great. After Parking and handed a map. Easy to follow red trail markings to get up to see arch, enjoy a drink/food, up to top look out, then the longer walk down where you then take 2 boats through gorges and walk back to car. All in all a great day. It took us 6 hours with photos breaks and drink break.
