We spent here two hours, walking around. We did not go for the guided tour as other reviewers mention it is only in Czech. Decin is worth a visit.

Nice Chateau with guided tour takes 50 minutes, nice rose garden with possible refreshment in château restaurant.

It is a small castle overlooking the river down below. We walked through the castle grounds and skipped out on the tour as we were more interested in enjoying the outdoors. Nice castle!

The Decin Castle was a positive surprize, situated on the hillside, overlooking the Elbe river and the town on the other side. Unfortunately, we were there in the late afternoon, so we did not get a look at the interiors, but it looks good on the outside, and one can have a nice stroll through the historic gardens and the old city wall.

We spent there a 3 hours just around the castle, beautiful gardens, very calm area, nice views, we really love it

Castle founded by Czech kings in 13th century as a fortress at the gate to kingdom, soon a city built around. Rebuild into a chateau by an influental family of Thun, guarding the vast territory of Elbe river valley, the sandstone cliffs and deep forests at the Czech-Sachsen border. Occupied by armies between 1920 and 1990, almost ruined, refurbished in 1990s into its original beauty and splendor. Have a smaller twin chateau on the other side of river, that in romantic style.

Děčín Castle is one of the dominant of Děčín. In my opinion, the most dominant feature is the Pasty's Wall (Pastýřská stěna) above Děčín (the photo is from the bus).

It’s worth the walk up the hill and the minor charge you pay for the rose garden tour is worthwhile. Some great views!

Located up the narrow steep Dlouha jizda, a cobblestone street with high walls, Decin Castle is sited on the bluff of the town where the Elbe and Ploucnice Rivers meet. Starting as a wooden fortress in the 12th century, rebuilt in stone as a royal castle in the 13th century, today the castle is a baroque style structure built from 1786-1803. Chopin performed at the Castle in 1835.
While the castle and its environs were primarily barracks for troops in the 20th century because of its strategic location, the Germans during WWII, the Russians during the Cold War, since 1991 the castle has belonged to the city of Decin and now houses a regional museum and a venue for concerts and cultural events.
We were unable to visit the interior of the castle during our brief visit to the town, but the views and the garden were quite lovely.
